Mathew Street Liverpool: The Beatles

Unread post by Pirate »

Ahoy!

Here are a few B&W images from Mathew Street, Liverpool where the Beatles were discovered. All taken with Sony A700 + Sigma 17-70mm DC. I've tried to create a 60's nostalgia throwback to the era. Hope you like. Larger versions on my flickr (see sig).

Look carefully at the bricks. They have the names of all the bands/artists that have performed there.

I've wondered what the place where it all began actually looked like, way back then, t'was a golden era, Elvis, the Beach Boys, The Beatles, Roy Orbison, The Monkeys, The Rolling Stones and many more...thanks for that, sort of does have that newshound tabloid feel to those shots I think...

Ahoy Greg!

Thanks for the c&c. I hadn't been there before either, so found it a fascinating place to walk down. Now where was Cilla Black and Gerry and the Pacemakers and Ken Dodd :?:

Thanks Doc . . .

Going back next month for another 'gathering' of the clan, so really hope to get out and about without having to keep up with the family next time.

Some interesting places to go and shoot if you have a guide to show you around (like anywhere really).
