DOh I so wanted to go down to the EX this year, I just couldn't get away. I wanted to see the airshow especially since the Blue Angels were there.

My x wife and daughter loved that ride last year when we were there. they went on it 5 times at least. There is soo much detail in the paint job on it.

Very nice Elisha, those photos are a breath of fresh air :^)

I am not heading down to Street Vibrations in Reno this year Bossel,
as Stephanie is doing a Med cruise Greece to Turkey & back, then on
to my house just outside Prades, up in the hills! otherwise I would
pick up a red haired one for you, no kidding! thats where the good
sport of a guy got his. Total stranger but posed in a fun way for me :^)

Ah, Doublé Fresh Fun from Elisha and Javelin! :D

Indeed an intricate paintwork is displayed there and must be fun to be one with the wind....

David Antony;

Prades is an incredible height to live and the natural aspects are beautiful... :) Maybe someday you can show more of it through your camera which would be great. And maybe even some from Stephanie's cruise as well.

Just as I'm typing these lines four cruise ships varying in size from giant, moderate and rather small are waiting to dock at the Galata Port region in Istanbul.. Local time at the moment is 08:35 am. :)

Thanks for the contributions,

Yildiz

I hope I squeezed this in on time... I guess that brings up another issue about the challenges. Do we use Aster's local time, or Zulu time perhaps? Anyway I shot this yesterday... A chap enjoying the fresh air!!! John

Indeed a nice one John! :D

Anyone would wish to do what that chap is doing in this photo...freeze the moment just a little more.

Don't worry about the time, the challenge is not over until I announce in written that the we're finished for the time being. It's not my time or the Zulu's but I wait until the date of 10 Sept 2009 is over for all parts of the world even extending some to the 11th so nobody misses a chance to try a challenge if he/she wishes.

I did that with all the other challenges that were concluded. It seems to work.

Thanks

Hello everyone, :)

I'm sorry we're a little late on the "Enjoy the Fresh Air!" challenge but it does take some dear time for the judges to arrive at the beautiful, fresh aired heights where the nice, fresh images of this challenge are exhibited for voting. First they have to endure the highly polluted layers of the skyline to get to your images!

I hope to finalize it soon. I promise. :D

Thank you for your patience.

Yildiz

Winners Announcement: Challenge 12/ Enjoy the Fresh Air!

Unread post by aster »

Hello everybody! :D

Thank you all for your contributions to the “Enjoy the Fresh Air” challenge which was enriched both with exquisite and entertaining photos.

A special thanks is due to our members who contributed with more than one photo and elevated the challenge to different levels of ‘fresh air’! Thank you David Kilpatrick, David Antony, Bakubo, Birma and Javelin.

Winner Announcements by categories:

For Sweet stillness; Fresh air ; Tranquility; Clarity :

Our winner is Ewannawe’s Field of hay bales

Congratulations Ewannawe, :D

The photo is of a tranquil scene that looks fresh as though just-after-rain; although completely different elements, the randomly scattered white patches of clouds and the hay bales have a matching quality that contribute to a feeling of complementing eachother. The almost even distribution of available light, the crisp air, the sweet gradual change of shade in colours of the blue sky and the green fields enhance the feeling depth.

Thank you for participating and joining the PhotoClubAlpha forum. :)

For Category of “Moment of day; Light of the Moment

Bakubo with his “Alpenglow”

Congratulations Bakubo, :D

Apart from the websize of the photo undermining its innate unique qualities a little this is a photo of patience, one that can only be captured through a loyalty and respect for the subject and good vision.

It’s only fair to submit more than one phase of post processing as Bakubo kindly did, delivering a chance for us to appreciate a colour and a B&W versions, in which a different detail draws our attention.

While the colour version offers the beauties of pink dawn light, accentuated with the flow of the reflections in the lake, the B&W version brings forth the crisp richnessof details on each tree, ripple, stone, rock and reflections.

Thank you very much for participating Bakubo.

For The Category “ The only skirt more famous than Marilyn Monroe’s fanning white one”

What’s kept paparazzi more intrigued over time on the subject of skirts after Marilyn?

No, not an other female Holywood star’s at all!

Only the Scottish men’s kilt had the privilidge ...and resumes its place.

Our winner for this category is Colin Burn-Murdoch’s ‘The band of the Lothian and Borders Police’.

Congratulations Colin and David Kilpatrick for a good photo and for reviving of our sense of humour with that ancient question : “What does a Scotts man wear under his kilt?” :D

The photo itself is rather interesting for the choice of colour-selection both on the kilts and the hull of the vessel; doesn’t appear to be a coincidence but certainly looks good on the photo.

We certainly can feel the chilling wind that gives a difficult time to the lads!

Thank you for participating David Kilpatrick.

One other contribution that brought smiles to our lips was David Antony’s “It’s an Illusion!”

The photo sequence speaks for itself, requiring no additional explanations.

Thank you for participating David Antony. You always have refreshing ideas that take us out of the thinking box. We bet that’s exactly what this gentleman was doing when you shot this photo also: freshening up out of the box! :D

For the Category “Bodies in action”

Olaf Ulrich’s photo is the winner for its disciplened take on a linearly arranged sequence of action shot in a natural premise.

Congratulations Olaf, :)

The scene is of one that leads the eyes toward the direction the animals are running much like a taffic road sign would compell the vehicles to follow. The narrowed landscape frame / panoramic appearance enhances this aspect.

The position of the dog in the lead is well-caught, just barely leaving the trees behind and vigorously escaping into the empty space. There’s no doubt that every single live creature in this photo is enjoying the fresh air and every muscle that exerts force is visually testifying the joy of fresh oxygen consumption.

No over-saturation of the colours to emphasize the greens and blue in the image leaves the photo to be a mild, serene, engaging action shot which can be viewed effortlessly.

Thank you for participating Olaf Ulrich!

For the same category, we have yet an other winner who is no less capable of running long distances and be a bundle of pink-clad pioneer to an ever-extending sandy horizon! Matilda, she who can see eye-to-eye and compete with her big-brother peers in the forum is the embodiment of freshness: moving in the freshness of consistent baby steps.

We celebrate her fresh start on life and congratulate her father Birma for bringing her transition through life to our forum.

Thank you for your participation Matilda and we hope your father will tell you one day in the future just how many contests in photography you won. Hugs...
