This is a test:

It does not work if any characters are included such as hard spaces (alt+space) or carriage return, or hard carriage return. Including these immediately makes the BBCode display and have no effect.

Right now, I think the best way is to make a table using the variable font but hard spaces:

Lens          Aperture          ISO
80mm       f/8                   100
100mm     f/5.6                200
17mm       f/11                 3200

This is not perfect but does work quickly.

I may have added a BBCode instance which allows the font to be changed. I'm really bad at using this.

I have enabled Flash, for what it is worth, and copied a sample of BBCode which appeares to be provided to allow Font changes. It now appears as a BBCode button.

You have to have the font name inside the brackets after font= putting it outside the brackets doesn't work.

this is Courier font
this is Times New Roman font
this is Arial font.

See my edited version of the test again below (I was working on this using many variations while others were replying!).

The easy answer is do not use the Font code, because it is disabled if anything except simply alphanumeric ASCII is used and that appears to include carriage returns and hard spaces. Also, if you use soft spaces even in Courier, the BBsoftware strips them down to a single space.

So use hard spaces alt+space:

This          is             a          table
_________________________________

and           here         are       its
legs          but           not       as
well          placed      as         they
should      be            with      monospaced
type

Do you have the "Disable BBCode" box checked? You shouldn't be seeing BB Code like that, but rather the effects of it.

[Alt][spaceBar] activates the browser's menu on my system.

On the Mac ctrl+space activates the machine's search facility called Spotlite but alt+space is a normal hard space. I don't know much about PC keystrokes as I've worked with what became the Mac character set since before the Mac was introduced. There will a keystroke combination for hard space however (or, in typographical terms, either en or em - nut or mutton - space). Someone will know it.

Well I can tell you it's formated properly and I can see the new fonts in your post. arial narrow and courier.

Check this. for IE-7

Click Tools/Internet options- General Tab- acessibility button. And see if either of the ignore fonts checkboxes are checked off?

This is the only thing I could think of that would cause just your machine to ignore the fonts. there is a tool in there too to make your own font substitutions too. took me a few mintuts to find where the options were.
