We've just been away for a week on Kefalonia, which is an interesting comparison - you had much better light on Mull, and much better colour - to be expected. We had 26-28C
But we also had the reverse of a relaxing week, because we were on the road from 10am to 6pm every day covering the island photographically, then again at night as our villa was 10km away from town with no facilities nearby. No autumn colours, though they had just started to appear as we left. I can match beach, lighthouse, sea (much rougher, despite being the Med), and even a small lake as well as mountain scenery.

But the best bit was having a small private pool, and the sea (impossible to reach, shoreline would cut shoes to pieces, let alone feet) 50 yards away with sunset around 7.15-7.30 each night - great after a day twisting round hairpin bends and driving on gravel roads in search of places on the map.
I don't advise Kefalonia as a photographic destination; it's no coincidence that many of the best views in the guidebook were from a helicopter, or from points inaccessible to the public either totally or out of hours/season. Nearly all heritage sites are free admission and no photographic restrictions but with very limited opening times. By far the most photogenic spot we found was a pre-earthquake (1953, destroyed most of the island's buildings completely) ruined village with the ghost-town like old houses preserved between the modern replacements. This is not on the tourist itinerary and the still-standing ruins found in many places never feature in guide books or on cards. It's still too recent a disaster and the losses of life within memory. One day, like the abandoned shielings and crofts of Scotland, the social and human costs will be far enough in the past to change that.
