Lots of people still use wooden posts for hayricks here David, especially on smaller fields. They even do all the work by hand with no machines at all. On my bike trips I sometimes see whole families working on fields with hay. Not in city of course

You just have to go 10-15 kilometers away from my city to see places when time seems to flow a bit slower, people are kind and respect traditions of their ancestors. Most of such places would indeed be very photogenic, but are "ruined" with asphalt roads, power lines, modern homes...
