I agree about the tower shot. I just wanted to leave it as it was shot on the spur of the moment...But I am thinking of decentering the weight of the tower for the sake of a more eye-relaxing viewing.

Hi Mike,

That's looking very nice. Clean and a nice layer of snow...very peaceful.

The Winter Olympics definitely will have its 'white' appeal this season with all these consistent snow storms in North America and especially Canada. Looking forward to watching the games and competitions on TV!

And just as the Sun's light beams were at the right angle before disappearing in the horizon I decided I wanted to shoot some patterns of architecture and embellishments.

I especially like the second photo. For me it has a special "feel" in composition, image, and color, and appeals to me very strongly.

Personally, I do not like the third image as well as as the other two. At first I could not figure out why this is the case, as I like the composition and the subject matter. After thinking about it, I decided that - for me - the problem was that the strong lighting contrasts in the bottom right of the image just seem "wrong" in the same image as the "soft" and beautiful patterns in the top center and left of the image.

If you ever visit Istanbul, you'll find that it opens to a court that once was used by merchants of the old times who'd be around this vicinity for selling and buying of many goods, from spices to cloothes, from animals to culinary, from fine textile that's been woven in China to traditional woven goods, a place to drink coffee or enjoy something cooler. It's been a place of 'gatherings' that encouraged human contact and trades.

The initial purpose of the place has not changed much since those times, the goods and the merchandise is different and so are the people and the currency spent but it still attracts crowds like a magnet. Even a person walking all by himself/herself has no chance of feeling lonely when inside this crowd of diversity...

I had to wait a while for crowd to thin so that I could photograph the passage free from human action...I just wanted something timeless. All the clothes the people had on and the umbrellas would point to a specific time, today.

I can but only respect your decision and selection...just as I respect Bossel's perception. That's photography, some will bug us and some will find a passage into our thought paths more easily.

Here in North Texas we recieved what was record snowfall, but nothing approaching what the Northeast got.. I got a few shots, but work prevented me from going out and shooting as much as I wanted to.

Aster I love the second and third shots.

Mike-I like the bird nest coverd in snow...

I like that street scene, and I really like that baloon shot...I've always suspected that baloon people aren't quite the same as us normal people...now I'm sure of it.
