Re: Weather Today- in Your Vicinity
Yeah, that scene looks innocent enough at first glance Birma, but what was really happening behind those clouds? notice how the rays are shining down on those houses in the distance..hmmm, and you're standing in an old crop circle near a dead tree..killled by what? It might pay to check for radiation next time you're there...
Just kidding,
it's a good'n, I like the dramatic clouds and the sun beaming through. That's a cool dead tree, for some reason birds just love em here. Usually what happens to the ones here is little bits gradually fall off the extremities while termites work on the trunk, until eventually one day....

Amazing looking design, those buildings Yildiz, looks almost like you shop on the planet Krypton or somewhere, I like that circular opening with what looks like stars inside...good photography, especially that closer shot of the opening and surrounds appeals too me, an interesting composition.
Greg
ps. Weather here still much the same for days (and nights), cloudy, frequent rain, 32 C, Humidity 84%, Wind N 5Kts. some flash flooding west and south.

Didn't Ashley Judd drive a truck like that (similar colour) in the movie Double Jeopardy with Tommy Lee Jones chasing her...looks pretty much like the way she drove anyway.

Not too cold and very little wind. Maybe it was about 15C, but once the sun was down it got colder very quickly.aster wrote:Incredible colour transition in the sky Bakubo,
Lovely silhouette of fine branches make it feel like an odd-coloured under-water scene with coral-like skeleton structures swaying with the water movement...
Was it cold out there? Any wind?
I haven't seen all the photos in this thread -- I was busy last week and then on the weekend we started another road trip to the West (in Albuquerque, New Mexico right now) -- so I will try to take a look at a few. I just saw your latest ones and they are very impressive!

I like that sunset shot Henry, amazing colours, maybe some ice crystals up at 40,000 ft or something...hmm New Mexico that's sort of desert-ish I think, maybe it's a bit of dust then.

Re: Weather Today- in Your Vicinity
There was some snow on a few of the surrounding mountains and now that we are a bit further north in New Mexico the mountains around Albuquerque all have snow on them. The north part of New Mexico is mountainous and forested. In 1999 we really enjoyed camping in the forest and mountains at Bandelier National Monument not far from Santa Fe.Greg Beetham wrote:I like that sunset shot Henry, amazing colours, maybe some ice crystals up at 40,000 ft or something...hmm New Mexico that's sort of desert-ish I think, maybe it's a bit of dust then.

Thanks for the kind words Bakubo.
You are very familiar with such curvelinear structures from the heart of nature. This one is concrete and nothing as spectacular as the real canyons but for a man-made structure it has its appeals and moments of surprises. And it's only a few miles from home.
Already on the road again ? New Mexico sounds lovely with all the snow covered mountains and forests...

Re: Weather Today- in Your Vicinity
It was almost spring today, once the mist lifted and the upper clouds broke it was glorious, but oh so fleeting....

About 25 miles from home, does that still count as 'in your vicinity'?
And I might be overdoing the PP a bit, if I feel a tad uneasy at a slightly unrealistic result I assume others will feel the same.

Yes, after 4 months in Japan along with a month in Egypt we had about 4 weeks to take it easy and then were ready to go somewhere.aster wrote:Already on the road again ? New Mexico sounds lovely with all the snow covered mountains and forests...![]()

Lookng calm and nice David Antony.
The blueberries appear to be in their pinkish red phase right now before the blue...
Well worth the wait because I like fresh blueberries. The snow covered summits make for a nicely-contrasting background.

Yes, it does feel different being there. I can say for sure that it's my favourite shopping mall in Turkey architectural concept-wise. In the summer, there's a cool breeze flowing through these curvelinear surfaces thus aiding in keeping the central court cool and fresh. For the winter, there could be some temporary structural aid to keep the harsh winds from the external aisles.
But I still like it and the conveniences it comes with.

That natural rock formation in the foreground almost looks like frontier line. As you said earlier, the mountains indeed look good in the distance.

Ewannawe;
That's one vast piece of land. Beautiful valley, if not green, ceertainly with surprising elements.
