Sony at C+ Show on March 11

Unread post by KevinBarrett »

A headline ripped straight of of Sony Alpha Rumors suggests we may soon learn more about Sony's concepts and future plans.

This is the Google translated link, and no, it doesn't help at all:
http://translate.google.com/translate?h ... S:official

For the easily excitable HD Video hopefuls, there's this mention near the bottom under a large "α" tag:
Mr. filmmaker Nukui Yuushi "α900" works produced in Four times full HD resolution (3840 × 2160 dots, 829 million pixels) and repeatable. Please enjoy our large 56-inch LCD monitor.
I suspect this exhibit features a super-HDTV capable of 4x resolution rather than a new alpha camera or camera feature. We might expect 8.2MP stills from an Alpha however.

Probably produced using the A900 for time lapse or frame animation. On the other hand it is possible that Sony might perform a conversion on the A900 for research into the new super-HD standards.

We know that the new Sony models will have 1080p 24fps video - industry standard - and this was confirmed to me by Paul Genge a week+ ago. However, what about things we don't know? Could Sony be the first DSLR maker to come out with a 1440p video setting?

ho no ! I just ordered my HD LCD projector 1080p ... they should not go over than that ! because I will not be happy :-).

(but in fact I was more happy if they can record at more than 1080p ... and reformat is in very sharp and dynamique range color rendition in 1080p).

Regards,

Only a few more hours! I'm feeling some of the disappointed and leftover excitement from PMA, now. Let's hope Sony delivers something a little more concrete.

Ok ok, KB, who said this, and in what movie.

"A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice Chianti."

"Hasta la vista, baby".

"You can't handle the truth!".

"You talkin to me?"

Geez, Greg! Stop hijacking my thread!

Silence of the Lambs

Terminator 2

A Few Good Men

Taxi Driver

I'd return with another challenge but my movie tastes are probably too obscure...

Yeah sorry Kevin, I thought a little puzzle or two too help while away the time...anyway, it's probably as relevant as anything when you consider that you can interpret translated Japanese or Chinese adverts in all sorts of ways, and get all sorts of wrong answers...
