Weather in Istanbul Today is rather undecided. It was foggy in early morning hours and later Sun dissolved it all and we could see everything...yet again and in their not so dreamy ways too.

Clear sky; not windy;

Traffic can be hectic in Istanbul but this shot is actually of more peaceful moments where you can actually see empty spaces on the asphalt surface.

This is the Barbaros Boulevard as is today. Tulips that line the lanes are in full bloom and add some cheer to the otherwise boring buildingscape around the district.

But I actually enjoyed finding bees on the flowers around the city without being intimidated by the vehicle traffic noise and pollution.

This continues to be a great thread - just look at the visits and posts stats .

The colour and texture in Paul's seascape is awesome, and I like the way Yildiz's tulips are mirrored by the brake-lights in the traffic . Well done for capturing a 'bee' image Yildiz!

In Worcester today: Grey Cloud, 12°C 54°F, Wind - South Westerly 16mph / 26km/h, Humidity - 67% , Pressure - 1018mb falling, Visibility - Very good.


With Minolta 24-105. Could have done with a ND filter and tripod to really get the willow in the wind .

Nice shot of the traffic Yildiz. The tulip line leads the eyes to the middle to an add that is not too discernible which adds a bit of interest. Well done.
Birma, I hear the wind in that great shot of yours.

Thanks Doc . I should have said that the picture is of Pershore Abbey, near Worcester. The BBC weather readings for Worcester are taken in Pershore, and so I didn't think the picture too out of place.

Ha ha, that could be the original LBJ, it's a very good shot though DA. Some very good and interesting work all round, nice stately manor/castle Birma, and Yildiz being naughty, taking chances with the traffic...Lovely Tulip flower-beds though, and finally caught a bee on some pretty flowers as well..

That is one good shot of the castle and the willow tree. Lovely hint of the actual weather conditions. Very inspiring too.

We were supposed to have rain in Istanbul but it was overcast instead.

While walking down the street I came by the men who kept the flowers and the grass all trimmed and nice for us and one of them even posed for me...

And, No, I'm afraid I was too busy walking toward my next row of tulips to give him a hand up with the mower...Hmm, well, in fact they are pretty swift doing that. He had already had it up there when I turned around to take a last shot.

Seeing that I was shooting the tulips, he handed me a pink carnation that he had in his hand, I thanked him and and in return asked if I could photograph him and he obliged. In all that hurry, somethings had to be overlooked!

Here's the carnation he handed to me, in the tiny bottle/vase that I put it yesterday. It has a very distinctive and strong fragrance...must be of a good breed.
