The IRs from Texas are upon you!
(sung to I've Been Working on the Railroad) Sorry to start off so cheesy....
Anyway- I finally got out and did some IR today. This was my favorite of the day, but I didn't have much time to really go to all the spots I've searched for during the winter.
On my Capitol IR shot, I forgot to turn the SSS off while the camera was on the tripod. DOH! It is from my trip to Austin, TX a few weeks ago.

Hi John - really like the first shot - I'm looking forward to some more "green" in the country-side here. I think water really makes IR shots.
Nex 5, Nex 6 (IR), A7M2, A99 and a bunch of lenses.

Re: The IRs from Texas are upon you!
Javelin- Just the filter. Luckily it came with some Ilford SFX film I bought 2 years ago. I use it more that the Cokin 007 filter I bought because it fits flush against the Cokin P filter mount and doesn't let in extraneous light from the sides.. Not too bad considering the 3 rolls of film and the filter were only $25 USD. It is equivalent to an R72 fllter. John

I guess the only advantage to the converted cameras is the shorter eXposures? The filter you have is a 007 ?

I've just sent an SMS to Armen to have a look at these beautiful pictures. I'm sure he'll be delighted to contemplate them too.

The IRS from Texas? Texas doesn't have an income tax!
Playing, of course. Very nice pictures, John. The first is my favorite--the IR really works best with pure landscapes, but the second isn't bad, either.

The first one is especially serene and quiet, that, it is magical.

Javelin- Yes the filter is an 007. The often adjust converted cameras for focus as well. It is also easier to be able to look through the viewfinder, and see the scene.
Doc-Thanks!
Armen- Thanks! I use PSE7 for noise reduction, as it is all I have. I have heard of others, but not used them. Plus changing the levels really makes the image better.
Kevin- Thanks and good to hear from you again! I didn't even 'see' IRS in my title. Thanks goodness we don't have a state income tax here!
Aster Thank you so much!
