Flower Pot indoors, using HVL20 flash on A900 and tripod. I came home late from work and could not go to sleep so I thought why not?

I loved the second one. Especially the gradient of light going from dark pink in lower left to translucent pink to the upper right.
The third one seems to be lacking clarity though sharp. Too cluttered? Too sharp? My apologies for not able to explain properly.

You're right about the details being not so obvious. I suppose it's about the strong sunlight that bounced the pink colour ll around which dicreased the distiction of the inner parts of the blossom.

Your critique is fine and self-explanatory, don't worry.

Lovely home orchids. It looks like a leopard with purple spots.

Thank you. They were taken at f2.5 with a Vivitar 90mm macro lens. MD/MA adapter had glass in it. I used macro rails to shoot and stacked 11 images. I had fewer alignment problems since it was on a tripod.

I was wondering Sury, how the background looked so oof when it was obviously reasonably close (shadow), now I see, it was taken at f2.8, that's a lot of work...11 stacked images, an unusual orchid flower with impact though and well worth the trouble.

Hi,

I was finally able to shoot the cactus blossoms in daylight and spotlight environments as Greg requested earlier. It was a pleasure to shoot them and not a task so rest assured, Greg...

Beautiful cactus Yildiz - and really nice shots. I like the lighting in the first, and i like the composition in the second where it looks like the plant is "reaching out". It is a stunning plant.

It's a very joyful plant indeed, especially with its pink blossoms that appear only once a year.

It is an inspirational cactus for me. And a rewarding one every time I turn my lenses on it. It stays green and very cactus-like patiently for 11 months and then, voila, it's more of a colourful joy bundle than any other flower, starting of every April...

Yildiz, I just saw some (old) footage of Istanbul, one of the local TV stations is replaying all the 007 movies, one each Saturday night, tonights was 'From Russia with Love' filmed mostly in Istanbul, it was a bit of movie nostalgia, and probably quite a time warp, from todays perspective that is, some of those places/scenes in the movie are most likely not the same or may not even be there nowdays I guess. But the movie was enjoyable just the same, especially James Bond's (Sean Connery) unbelievable charm with woman.

Yes, "From Russia with Love" was shot at actual locations of Istanbul. Some scenes with the gypsies, I think, are a bit of a stretch, at least for me, but I certainly won't criticize Ian Fleming's imagination on the matter. If my memory serves me right, there's a scene where two attractive women in belly dancer costumes that actually wrestle to win 007's attention, or something of the like.

Sean Connery with his tan and that mocking raise of the single brow, did charm many women's sane thoughts into some bizarre acting situations in the series that he acted as Bond. Men may disagree about Connery though. I remember a British man that lived in Istanbul with his family ten years ago saying to me "Sean Connery was the worst 007 ever! He made Queen's special agent appear like some soft playboy." He said the actor prior to him was better. That was way before Daniel Craig and Pierce Brosnan... And I think he was a very loyal patriot of his homeland but who isn't?

Next time I see it on tv I'll make a note of the locations and see if they look anything close to what they looked like.

My first response to the first one is like it wants to hug me. My reaction is a bit stronger than Birma's but on the same lines.
In the second one, I was immediately drawn to bright spot on the right side and I presume that was not your intent. The center is less illuminated that the upper right portion and was forcing me to look there first before coming back to the flowers.
