Completely aside from any opinion I may have on these specific images, one of the reasons that I prefer this forum to most that I have ever visited is that people here feel free to offer polite suggestions on what they think might improve images. I sometimes agree and sometimes disagree with the comments, but I really appreciate the inputs - especially on my own images.

Too many of the forums have people who have nothing but high praise for evey image posted, which does not help me to improve my own efforts. If comments about my images were made in an insulting manner, I might take offense, but I have not encountered that problem here myself, and I do not think that any of the comments in this thread were intended to be rude or insulting.

I hope that this thread does not become adversarial and heated because of a choice of words by either Glen or Lonnie. In reading their comments, I do not think either of them intended their words to be interpreted as strongly as seems to be happening.

I agree 100%. The only way any of us can improve is by listening to what others have to say about our work. I think the images are good. I really like the first one. I didn't post anything, but that doesn't mean I don't have an opinion. I also think Bossel has a valid point too. The house shot is sharpened to the point where on first glance I thought it was an HDR shot. But, that's camper's style I guess. The point the shooter should take home is that while they might love their style, it's not for everyone. Is there a way to make your style more appealing?

When folks give me feedback here, I usually try to give the technical reasons why I shot something the way I did. Usually it's a compromise with the light or something with the composition that was difficult to deal with. If something is "just my style" I'll usually say that too, but I do think about what others say to see if I can modify my style.

It's art people, and taste in art is subjective.....

Maybe so but there is another forum thats supposed to be for critique so he may have felt like he didn;t want to hear any when he posted here. I have no idea what went on here as some of the conversation is deleted but.. didn't seem like anyting to get worked up about.

Wow, I hope we/I didn't just alienate a valued contributor. My original comment was intended to compliment the artist and his work, and to attribute the quality of that work to the artist over his tools. The pictures were amazing, and I'd be proud to have posted them, myself.

So called CA is peculiar anyway, I remember one time that Sonolta complained about one of Olaf's pnotos supposedly having CA, I couldn't see it on my monitor at all and said so, then Don asked what monitor I had, (24" Samsung), he said basically it was cheap junk (after I told him) and that's the reason why I couldn't see it.
Thing is, I had no trouble seeing the CA in the image of the window David posted using the KM24-105 on the A900 at release that time, (you can't take a photo against the light with the KM24-105 and get away clean, but it does take great photos WITH the light I think). So why is it that some people can see 'CA' on their monitor including me 'sometimes,' and I can't sometimes, when they apparently can, (Doc said he didn't see any this time either, yet Kevin did, I'm not sure who else did or didn't), does anyone have any idea what's happening?
