Been away for a while. Lots of beautiful shots.
And wonderful shot by Hercules, the flower is standing out of the background very neatly.

Very lovely shot, Hercules. That's almost a perfect globe, accentuated against an out-of-focus background. Lovely shade of lavender in its composition also...

I'd be glad to be of service! Especially as this flower originates from Turkey and was introduced to the World from an expedition by McPhail and Watson when they were travelling in search of new species to the Asia Minor and Central Asia...: )

Doc, that one ol' pal is a Bottlebrush tree, we've got one in the front yard, the honeyeaters like it here but there might not be any birds there that know what it is. Nice closeup btw, much better than mine, I had too use flash the last time I photographed it.

No problemo Yildiz I thought if anyone would know it would be you, I did a search for Alium tauricola and because it's still listed as rare there aren't many other good photos of it on the plant sites that I found, besides Botanists aren't necessarily good photographers either it would seem, most photos that I saw were pretty ordinary by our standards.

Greg, thanks for the links and the photo of the Bottle Brush flower from your garden. That's a very apt name for the flower in everyday talk.

Your garden like Birma's, is very much like Alaaddin's magic lamp -in this case magic bottle- with an ever prolific means to provide the unexpected flower and weed species .... : ))

And thanks for the kind words. As you carefully suspected, there are hardly any good photos that provide all the wonderful details of these magnificent flowers. One wonders how the botanists work or is it that they don't care to share their archives on the Internet and keep them in their laboratories all digitally filed or stacked in shape of old photo prints?

It was way up on a higher branch, hence the backlit, far off look...

Oo, I like the look of that Butterfly Bush flower Yildiz, I wouldn't mind seeing it again in a better lighting situation even, if possible...the glare is just a little too much to appreciate it properly.
I don't have much on tap at the moment, (Thanks for the honourable mention Yildiz, that reminds me, we haven't heard from Birma for a while), there is one in a potplant that flowers all the time but I don't know what it is.

That would be a type of Wax Begonia, Greg. We had this one planted everwhere in our garden when I was a child and living by a lake. It's a popular plant / flower in Turkey, mostly cultivated in pots.

I'll try to shoot the Butterfly Bush at a better time with better light. Thanks for the critique. : )

Birma, if my memory serves me right is working away from home during week days and can only spend some quality time shooting during the weekends when he also posts images to the forum. I'm sure we'll hear from him pretty soon.
