Nice series of Morning Glories with water drops. I believe that the central parts are out of focus, maybe for DoF is required?

Thanks for pointing the little differences between the species. I corrected the name in my previous post and reuploaded the photo.

We also have a couple of Desert Roses-Adenum obesum in the garden but they are not flowering due to having been pruned too much early this season. : )) Maybe in the autumn, since the seasons seem to be acting a little out of character here..

Fantastic flower pictures over the last week - great stuff The last three of yours, Yildiz, have great colour and detail. Great to see the Doc is back as well

Anna, interesting to see a Bluebell in bud - not something I've seen photographed much. Lovely bokeh. It would be interesting, from a botanical view, to see the tip of the stem, but this shouldn't affect what is in effect a portrait. I find it difficult to judge what should be in focus and what is acceptable blurred, and I suspect this varies from viewer to viewer as the focus tells the story of the picture in this sort of shot for me. I'm undecided on this one. Looking forward to seeing more from the Tamron 90mm.

Thanks for the feedback. I get your point about the focus/blur. If I'm honest I think the top would be better sharp too, but I did like the water drop at the bottom. I hadnt noticed the stem missing a bit - funny what you dont see sometimes! I'll keep working on stuff.

Love the roses. Such crisp sharp shots. Mine are a bit more "fuzzy" - mainly because I've been experimenting with my macro lens. The two below are primroses from my garden.

Yes, my centers are a bit OOF, for the most part, but the fact that they're so bright I find a bit distracting. Maybe if I get out there earlier, of under more cloud cover, they won't be so bad. Exposing for the highlights just makes the rest of the flower overly dark, and kills some of the detail.

My initial reaction to the center was that it was overexposed. I defer to the experts on DOF being
out of range being the fact.

Anna,
I have struggled with my macro lens too. Then I realized a mere one mm movement can change the
image completely. You could try using a tripod till you know your lens better. That's what I did. I am assuming
your shots were hand held.

Doc, Yildiz and others,
Some great flowers indeed. I am slowly getting back to routine after vacation and have been
delinquent in posting off late.

ps. The brightness control and the other one the highlight and shadow control work quite well in my rather more limited Elements 8 editing program Dusty, even with the JPEG's out of the camera which I use just about all the time (too much stuffing about using the RAW for me). As long as you allow a little for the highlights originally with the camera I find they can lift the whole thing afterwards so it looks pretty ok without destroying the brighter parts, sometimes it takes a couple of goes before I can say it's now about as good as I can get it, I'm no expert mind, but the program does a pretty good job with a difficult situation...I think.

Great sunflower Dusty, a really nice portrait. Ours have not survived our absence while on holiday so it is nice to see yours doing well.

Nice to see the Tamron 60mm is still popular Sury. I am suffering from GAS again, and I think this will be the next subject of that particular syndrome . I've taken more close-ups this year than anything lese I think, so perhaps a macro is a sensible addition (that is what I am telling myself anyway!).

Very nice pictures of flowers after the rain from Anna and Gary as well - nice to see more people posting flowers.
