Pizza Delicasy Night-Courtesy of the Urban Tomato Plant

When I see a 1990 wine (that's 20 yeras now!!) I have no time left to look at any Pizza You could do a whiskey in that time, I think we have some specialists for that on the forum.

But I do like Pizza and we do it ourselves sometimes- well, we buy the dough and then decorate ourselves!

And yes, I like the arrangement of the photo, with some fresh tomatos around!

I also hoped the shiny metal surface may give me a reason to post to 'Evidence of the Photographer' thread but I'm afraid, I only appear as a an unidentifiable vertical line there!

Yes, indeed, a twenty year old Doluca red wine is a good product! Many would skip the pizza or anything that comes along to eat and would only thrill in the joy of a chilled bottle! : ) I'm sure you know how to that...

Well, after all the spicy and salty pizzas it's about time I served the photos of the pistachio stuffed baklava.... : ))

To Greg; Your one-week-leave period is up and I will not let myself be drawn into a 'pool' of guilt just because you haven't showed up in the forum in time for the pizzas...and now for the baklavas too!

Yildiz, great photos! You should work for a food magazine or equal...

Those are both great, but I wonder how the first image would have turned out with a little more DOF and focus moved about a couple centimeters closer to the camera - more like the second?

How lucky I just have to work for another hour, now when I'm hungry again...

I'd love to work for a food magazine, that's a smart idea! : ) Although I like photographing almost anything that I can get my eyes on... : ))

I'll see if I have shot one as you suggest out of the ones I have at the moment. But I see what you mean about starting the DoF at a closer point where the walnuts are also in focus and smoothly covering the baklava pieces too.

ps. I never even got close too a pizza in the last week, my brother did the cooking (and good at it), for the four of us that went, and he's a beef, mashed potatoes, string beans and mushroom sauce kind of guy.

pps. Saw lots of crocodiles sunning themselves on the mangrove mud banks, mostly in the distance, they would slide back into the water as the boat approached while still quite a distance away, they just don't build good gutsy crocs anymore I think.... I did get a couple of shots though...sort of ok-ish, (I was with fishing type persons who don't posess a photographic tendancy of any sort)

Hmm, let me see. How to describe Baklava to you, Greg? : )

It's about 20 or more very thin, almost transparent, rolled out dough layers that have ground pistachio, walnuts between the layers. After its baked in the oven, cold sugar syrup is poured on it and the dough absorbs each drop hence becoming a truly sweet and crisp yet very fragile dessert.
It's delightful...actually almost melts inside the mouth if made properly by good cooks..

Dr. Harout should know how it tastes first hand. He adores Lebonese Baklava if I remember correctly. Principles of the recipe are always the same but the butter used may differ... : ))))
