Well, I have the 1.7x TC for the DSC-V3. It vignettes too much on the Nex, which is too bad, as it is actually a really good optic and wasn't exactly cheap when I bought it. I'm a little disappointed that I haven't gotten good results out of these adapters I have; front mount adapters don't necessarily have as much light loss as the ones that fit behind the lens for DSLRs.

More reason to be skeptical of all their rumors. Some people take everything posted on that site as almost a fact and then post it in forums and repeat it over and over. No one knows how much or even if any of it is true. In other words, show the same skepticism to those rumors as you did to the rumor Thom Hogan posted.
There's no guarantee that there is a Nex-7. Or if there is, we have no idea what it might be like. I mean, I know some people don't like the Nex-3/5, but it's all we have right now. (And it's not so bad!) I'm certainly not going to hold my breath for a Nex-7. It was either Nex-5 or possibly m4/3 for me.... or wait for whatever, but not wait assuming a particular feature set only to be yet again disappointed when Sony makes their own choices! People are just setting themselves up for disappointment.

the site clearly labels the photos as made up. I see no problem with that.
I'm just wondering aloud as to whether the A33 as speculated / leaked increases the chances the chances of an enthusiast NEX camera appearing sometime early in 2011 ?
I would be happy with the NEX 5 type camera with an optional EVF but I suspect that few of the targeted audience for the NEX 3 /5 will be interested. It could be a costly exercise without mass market appeal. Perhaps by borrowing from the A 33/55 parts bin there may be a NEX 7 with EVF and built in GPS.
The NEX accessory connector has 14 very finely made contacts. I don't think either the mic or the flash would need more than half of those. If they are not there for an EVF, I don't know what their purpose is.

They probably just wanted to see how things go before committing to producing an EVF, if I am allowed to guess. I think this makes a lot more sense than a "Nex-7". Who knows?
What concerns me is that if the optional OVF is $200, will we be able to afford the EVF?

I wonder if the discussion (in Japanese) went something like this: Are we telling them or not? No, because they may then go out and announce an EVF will follow and customers may delay their purchases. I just wonder what is going on. Sony have the EVF knowledge. Maybe one will follow with the A33/55 technology. If just Sony would release such a device and produce a couple of quality collapsible lenses ala Olympus say 12-24 and 18-70mm I might purchase next year to replace my LX-2/3 combo.

Do you suppose that Sony didn't want to signal the high quality of the A33/55 evf before those cameras were announced? Once that announcement is made (two days now), perhaps there would be no reason not to introduce the NEX evf, separately or in the NEX 7.

The A55/A33 fixes the things that really turned me off to the NEX 5/3. They have an EVF in addition to the rear LCD and they have IBIS. Several other additional nice features like using A-mount. I am looking forward to seeing them in the store and I can see myself getting one. Not as an OVF SLR replacement, but as an additional camera.
I bought a Minolta D7i in early 2002 and sort of liked it. For me the slow AF and EVF were the worst points. For travel though the size was great -- never used it on a trip though. I did like the tilting EVF that I could tilt up. I also liked that the EVF eyepiece extended out the back more so that made it easier to use with the left eye -- A55 has this too. Although the A55 is fairly small the lenses, of course, are A-mount so no smaller. Still, the EVF and tilt/swivel LCD sure would be handy sometimes. An EVF, no matter what the hype is, is still not ready to replace an OVF for many types of photography, I think. The hype that the A55 EVF view quality was only exceeded by the A900 was just over the top ridiculous.
As soon as I saw the NEX in the PMA reports I lost 100% of my interest, but these new cameras do interest me. Now I hope Sony or someone makes a pocket, retractable zoom lens (non-interchangeable), IS, with flash, and an OVF (or EVF) that is sort of like the Canon A590IS or most of the old 35mm p&s cameras.
They're just that evil.
