Hi Greg - I think you may have undersold the poor 'ol avacado - those are nice looking blossoms - of course having a butterfly attached may well help the view . I like th eorchid and fly shot - the petal detail is amazing - I alsways thing of petals being very flat but when you see one up close it has a very detailed structure - just like our skin I guess.

Wow - glad to see you posting pictures again Javelin. The first shot with the hover fly hovering is superb What lens are you using? Nice bokeh. The swallow tail is an amazing looking butterfly - wouldn't mind seeing some of those in the garden here .

Well, no match to Javelin's spotless crispness for sure, yet I was able to find some sort of dark wild bees on the marigolds this morning...

Shot with the camcorder... (the weather is too hot to carry both the Alpha and the camcorder around)

Hi Yildiz - I really like the contrast of the size of the two bugs - their dark colour goes with the bright Marigold nicely. The Bokeh looks much nicer than I thought the camcorder would manage.

Telemacro feature of the camcorder doesn't allow for much interaction 'bokeh-wise' but the closer to the subject, the shallower gets the depth of field...I try to manage with that in mind.

Nice one Yildiz, and Dusty, how come your bees are behaved and actually land, there were some bumble bees hanging around the Qumquat tree today and do you think I could get them too actually land, nope they just brushed against the flowers and wavered all over the place, so this is the best I came up with, but still not very wonderful.

Dusty, you indeed have a busy garden! : ) Morning glories of different blues and bees to honour their glory. : )

I don't know the blue flower on which the bee actually is collecting pollen; slender and nice form of tiny blossoms around a stem.

This dark bee was extremely hungry! It had no intention of flying away without fulling up the the basket!

Your yellow one looks a bit 'round'. Maybe it's not 'that hungry' and just taking a look for the later. : ) Bees don't forget the tracks they visited before, so it probably will be back when in need..

Never saw a yellow bee that looked like this. Is it a bee?

Nice blue spots on those wings. Definitely a time for butterflies at your places. I don't see that many or different butterflies here.
