Munchkin Duty

Unread post by UrsaMajor »

Here are some snapshots from last weekend that violate several "rules", but which I feel capture the moments involved - although I recognize that I am not able to be objective in this case. The subject is my younger grandson - age 19 months - during one of the days we were taking care of him.

With best wishes,
- Tom -

PS
The glasses belong to my wife, who decided to inflict them upon him just for the picture.

Hi Tom, : )

Your grandson has beautiful eyes! Just putting on those over-sized glasses accentuates their beauty. He's a spectacular kid...also very stylish and colourful! :D

Love the candids. : )

He can thank his Aunt for the shirt. She originally bought it for her own son, who is 15 months older than his cousin.

As is usual at that age, it was outgrown very quickly, so my daughter gave it to my son and his wife, along with a lot of other clothing.

With best wishes,

Thanks for the kind words. Large and striking eyes are common at that age, but we think his tend to be more so than most other kids'.

Colorful is also a good way to describe his personality . . .

My personal preference is to shoot candids - probably because I have seldom been satisfied with the results whenever I have shot posed photos, regardless of the age of the subjects. It is a skill that I definitely lack.

Here are a couple of additional images from the same day. His mother has refused to even consider cutting his hair, which creates a challenge when it comes to removing tangles, due to his age and energy level. Since my wife had exactly the same attitude about cutting his father's hair at the same age - and until he was even older - when she complains about the problem with combing this one's hair, she gets no sympathy from me. :P

With best wishes,
- Tom -

Cute! :D

He doesn't seem to be annoyed by any pain from any tangles in these shots and happy to be smiling back at the camera.

I should agree that at this age, they really have nice hair which should not be touched by any scissors. : )) He should be able to make his mind up for a hair style soon enough though. They really grow fast and start making their minds up for all sorts of things.. :D
