Re: Got my A55! My first Impressions.... + Kit Lens sample s
Hi Ian, a frosty morning in Devon
. Keep the info coming - it is very useful, if perhaps a bit too tempting
.
Nex 5, Nex 6 (IR), A7M2, A99 and a bunch of lenses.
Re: Got my A55! My first Impressions.... + Kit Lens sample s
Here's another shot, using the auto panoramic feature, not a full panoramic, just about half.
Wonderful view this morning!
Shot with 18-55 kit lens again.

Re: Got my A55! My first Impressions.... + MORE sample shots
Ian, I haven't read the whole four pages of this thread yet, but a couple of questions -
1) I've looked in an online manual and at reviews but don't see where the A55 is capable of time-lapse video. Do you know if it has that capability?
2) Is the battery charger the wall type, or does it have a cord?
Thanks,
Ed

According to my A33 manual the US and Canada receive a wall mounted unit and the rest of the world gets a cord unit. So you may have to ask very nicely if you want a cord.

As peterottaway said, you will get a wall mounted unit. That is what is says in the A55 Manual.edrice wrote:Ian, I haven't read the whole four pages of this thread yet, but a couple of questions -

Time-lapse video is not possible on the A55. Although you could in theory hit record and just speed the footage up in a video editing program. But obviously that isn't practical in comparison to a proper time-lapse camera.

Actually, I've been spoiled by portability of cordless chargers, so will happily ask them to please donate one to a needy offshore recipient.peterottaway wrote:According to my A33 manual the US and Canada receive a wall mounted unit and the rest of the world gets a cord unit. Deep down I knew that is what you were going to say but I was hoping. Thanks!Ian C wrote:Time-lapse video is not possible on the A55. BTW, I see we've got some gorgeous cow pictures, so thought I'd throw in one from southern California taken with the A350/16-80.

Nice shot, Ed!edrice wrote:BTW, I see we've got some gorgeous cow pictures, so thought I'd throw in one from southern California taken with the A350/16-80.
I'm sure I have seen that area, but am having trouble remembering if it is where I think it is located. Was that taken just off of I-5 on the way to San Diego?

By the way Ed, I have this feeling that you are on to get yourself an a55...

I can see why you might think it's that area but it's actually near Warner Springs which is just west of the Anza Borrego Desert. It's near the junction of Highway 79 and S22 (San Felipe Rd). Here's another shot in this area. If you go in March/April after a wetter winter you can see scenes such as these fields of goldfields, a tiny flower in mass quantities. And a shot of the desert a ways down the road. My wife and I go after the rains to see the flowers blow. Spectacular area at that time of the year.
Sorry for the diversion.
Ed

Dr. Harout, I'm thinking there's not much I could slip past you. It arrives Monday.Dr. Harout wrote:By the way Ed, I have this feeling that you are on to get yourself an a55...
