A bit late posting. Last Thursday was Thanksgiving in the US, and looking out the window about noon I noticed large snowflakes falling. Quite the change from the Indian Summer we'd been having all week up till then, temps in the 70's (F)!

Looks like the real deal now, they'll want you too push them down the slope in a sled next Dusty ha ha. What's the sign for 'do not enter' fairly specific that one, a body could get the impression the don't want anyone to enter there, ever, is it radio active or something?

Neat ! Would have loved to be out there with Elizabeth and Emma and have a gimmicky snowball battle... : )

Dusty, bless them, you have really lovely daughters that I adore...they all have gorgeous smiles when they choose to smile too. I hope someday I'll be just as fortunate to have such a lovely one with a good heart and a sweet soul too.
You can't say that they are not inspirational now, can you, lucky father ? : )

I believe that the "Do Not Enter" sign is because it is a One Way street. The intended traffic flow is toward the camera, and an accident might result if you drive an automobile or ride a bicycle on it in the wrong direction.

That's the grade school across the street, (they have SO FAR to walk!) and entry is via the street on the other side for drop off and pickup. After school hours people will ignore it and enter that way to drop items at the recycling boxes or drop the kids at the playground. However from 8:30-9 am and 3-3:30 pm, it's always full of exiting cars!

Wow how convenient is that? the school is right next door, no long and potentially dangerous trips for the kids each day. Yeah it didn't twig with the sign, I can't remember seeing any one way streets around town here, although there might be one here or there.

And so endeth another fun in the sun day, and sitting having a relaxing moment. Climbing ladders, building a scaffold, fixing things, one could even feel a little guilty keeping all that too oneself.

I might take a photo of what I'm doing up where that extension ladder goes too, seeing as that is what I'll be occupied with for a while, and no real opportunity to take photos of much else, (the area up there has been neglected for a long time as it's so difficult to work there, trestles are of no use because of the back awning, so I had too design and build a scaffold before I could even start).

Don't even try to go up there with a camera in hand. I mean it. We need not risk your life for a couple of shots even though it might be a little interesting for us.

Better shoot other odd stuff than risk any bodily injury.

Did the dove family members finaly moved away from your garden premises yet? They probably are fully grown to the sizes of their parents by now, from head to tail.

Don't worry Yildiz it would be an easy task to carry a camera up there actually compared to what else I've been carrying up ha ha..tools and drills, rattler, scaffold rhs, 6m planks, clamps you name it, it all got up there by sherpa Greg . No photography today though, too busy making more clamps for the scaffold.
They are a funny pair the two parent birds, they don't seem to mix in with the rest out the front when I toss some seed there, they seem to exist on the lawn grass seed in the back yard; so I've been putting a lttle bit of seed under the nesting tree as it's fairly slim pickings feeding themselves and two young ones just on tiny grass seed. They seem to have moved to the lychee tree now (that's the one in the photo behind the ladder, it recently got topped, it was getting too huge); I saw one that I took to be one of the young sitting up on one of the branches with the parents (I think), couldn't see the other one. The parents seem to know my voice, they both flew down and walked in under the house to say hellow while I was sitting for a few minutes, then they wandered off around too where I put the seed...funny little critters.

Those critters know a good man when they see one! You're Big Boss Uncle Gregory to them!

There's quite the construction rolling in silence in your home quarters; Scaffolding, drills, planks...ladders of sorts to go up and down...But home is sweet home and one needs to take care of one's roof overhead.

It certainly doesn't feel like autumn or winter here; we have a rather warm weather right now although, weather forecasters warn that tomorrow will be nothing like today and we should put really warm clothing on.

We'll see how low the temperature will go tomorrow..There's always enough room for suspicion to keep it testing with a questioning eye and sense! No need to trust anyone's word for what's in the hands of the Holy Creator. : ))


I had a little headache the past two days due to unrestful sleep at night times and it felt more like a chill was crawling my way, feeling like a cold. So, I thought I make some soup to be ready for the inevitable if I was to acquire a fever also while I still could stand on my feet and not so tired.

The first is the chicken and rice soup and the second one is my favourite the Yogurt soup.

Anyone's best friends when feeling under the weather!

Hi Yildiz, it sounds like you are the one who needs too look after herself more than I do at the moment. That's a great idea, nice healthy meals, great photos btw, and get some rest and keep warm. I remember reading somewhere that it is usually the first chill in the air that can bring out a dormant cold before you know it. When I feel a bit run down and maybe a small headache once in a while I usually pop a complex vitamin pill with some orange juice, there's sometimes some trace element that's needing topping up I think, seems to work ok anyway.

ps. I had a look at the doves with a torch, and they still go back to the nesting tree at night, well three of them do, I couldn't decide if I was looking at two juveniles and one adult or one juvenile and two adults right at that moment...I'll investigate further....

Thanks for the recommendations on prevention of a chill. I feel better now after eating some citrus fruits already. I'll buy some Vitamin supplements tomorrow. Right now it's well past 21:15 here in Istanbul. : )

Anticipating your news on the juvenile and parent doves...Surely, some cat or other didn't go after the other young one, I hope?!
