NEX5 w/16mm & 18-55 at Amazon £581.33 at Amazon UK - Good?

I have mellowed in my view of the NEX5. I don't like the lack of an OVF or EVF, but I can get a device from ClearView I already use on my LX2/3.

The best price I can find is from Amazon UK

and as this is not grey import, Amazon are promising I will get VAT back from Sony.
I have just splashed out on an A580 with 18-55mm but I am really tempted although I really am getting on OK with my LX2 and 3 for "light duty" photography. It would seem that current NEX5 owners are generally satisfied and have great fun with the camera. The ClearView device is good in strong sunshine. Just got a quote for the NEX-5 premium lens version tripod mount at $53 plus postage $7 to UK. They are apparently made to order.

Notwithstanding I got no support to back up my interest in a NEX-5 kit I still went ahead and ordered (the last box I gather) a NEX-5 with 16mm and 18-55mm lenses from Amazon at £569.42 delivered. The VAT portion amounts to £84.81 so the net amount after claim-back from Sony will be £484.61.
Looking at Warehouseexpress the 16mm is listed at £194.00 and the 18-55mm at £239.00 so that is £433.00. So theoretically I will have the NEX-5 body at a cool 51.61. Not bad for five minutes work. I now look forward to trying out the device to see if it is worth the money. Just shipped so should be here within a few days. Even BF might agree that this is a good body price.

I see Amazon (uk) is down to 569.99 now for the dual lens kit. With the vat back it is a great deal IMHO. I look forward to seeing your Nex pictures, Alphaomega and Lonnie, and may be even some video .

Amazon also had an additional £50 off the two lens kit in Silver, on top of the VAT reclaim, but this offer expired Nov 28th.
