Spider's lunch

Hi

Just joined and getting back into macro after many years away from doing any macro and photo stuff. Thought I'd jump on the 'digital' revolution and give it a whirl.
Being an old Minolta user it was logical to choose Sony to return. My current camera is a Sony a200.

These were taken on a windy and damp day which didn't help much and using a monopod with the subject being blown in and out of focus like crazy, I was quite pleased with the end result.
Both shots taken with the 200 with a Tamron 90mm macro lens and Sony macro flash. Still getting used to the setup and it shows

Welcome - nice intro pix! I have to say these pictures support the illumination quality and exposure accuracy of Sony's twin head macro flash (nee Minolta) and I prefer them to typical ring-flash macro results.

Sorry for the bad optical quality, the cheap Sigma 70-300 doesn't do well in the CA department... among other things
Had the APO version earlier but my D7D manage to kill it (stripped gears maybe).

An excellent start Alan and welcome among us alpha mount users.
I think spiders are the most photographed in macro world, probably due to their fantastic and photogenic web design.
