Hi John,

I hope the chestnuts taste as good as the ones I had yesterday when you get some for a trial on the grill. They can be rather bland if not a from a good tree. Enjoy! :)

Ellie certainly surrendered her body and soul to a comfy bed of grass and sunny blanket, John. :) A very spectacular dog she is too!

Greg;

Thanks. :) It actually is snow particles caught in a blizzard that we see in the photos, not fog. A little snow accumulated on the roof tiles this morning but I think they won't last long if the weather warms up today.

It's pretty chilly right now but the sun began to show also...

Yep Yildiz, sorry, I did actually read carefully what you wrote, I just gave it a general description of foggy looking, not specifying it was a blizzard as I should have.

Hi Greg, : )

No need to appoligize, Greg, I know what you meant. Nothing to worry about.... :D

Don't ponder on it... In fact, that's what fog is all about after all, miniscule water drops, but ours were a bit bigger and frozen in ths case. : )) That's all!

A great Chestnut demonstration Yildiz, and of course lovely pictures of Istanbul, picturesque through your lens even in a blizzard :D.

3 inches of snow today in St. Louis. I had to dig out the driveway (ours is heavily sloped away from the street) just to get us to church today. Currently -9C, it got as warm as -5 today! How I wish I was in Texas!

Today was a gorgeous, sunny day with the afternoon high 80F/27C. The annual Honolulu Marathon was held today so this morning I walked over to Kapiolani Park and the finish line to take a few photos. Like the last time I took some photos in 2008, my favorite place were the temporary showers set up in the blocked off street right after the finish line with strong backlighting. I didn't take that many photos today, but I put a few on my website. Here is a photo as I was walking back home along the beach next to the park:

That's some freezing cold, Dusty!
Roads safe for driving ? I suppose they are cleaner than the folks' paths and gardens...

Hi Bakubo,

The weather looks great there. : )

I think the strong backlighting works for these shots of the showers with running and splashing water. Water being transparent makes itself present by the refraction of strong light passing through it.

I like those shots of the exhausted Honolulu Marathon 2010 participants as they try desperately to chill under the cold water. : )

Thanks for sharing,

Yildiz

:D :D Thanks for the 'subtle input' of blizzard, Birma! I'm so happy you didn't do the 'mistake' that Greg did... I wouldn't know, when I would start talking with you again if you hadn't mentioned it ! (kidding and in capitals too !! ) :D : )))))))

Thanks for the kind comments.

A storm was brewing late yesterday, I walked down the backyard too have a look, I counted five layers of clouds, the bottom two were moving fastest, in different directions, oh well, situation fairly normal here this time of the year.
Greg
Townsville weather: 25.7|29.2C, H75%, 13|26km/h ENE|ENE, reasonably clearish at the moment.

Weather in Istanbul:
Thursday Night: 9°C Image
Light Rain Mist; Chance of Rain. Partly Cloudy. Low: 5 °C . Wind East 25 km/h . 40% chance of precipitation (water equivalent of 14.84 mm).

..............................................................................................................

Hi, : )

Nice layer of clouds, from dark grey to whitish, Greg. Certainly stormy conditions...

We have rain at the moment and visibility isn't so bad, since we have a mild mist in the distance.

I baked a little today in the spirit of the season; an Apple pie and a Kitty pizza.
The apple pie turned out very delicious and looks like the season but I forgot to attend to the kitty pizza in the required time and overbaked it to an intense colour.
It really looked like a smiling Kitty with a bowtie and a Santa hat early on but now it looks more like an overtanned and furious kitty instead.

But I'll still share my misdeed with you and will rely on your patience... : ))

Yildiz

ps. Kitty pizza was to honour all the toddlers and the babies that make it to the forum posts via their parents' photos and for Dusty's newly-arriving John! : )

Never mind Yildiz, the Kitty probably was unhappy you forgot him, quite cleverly done though I think. The apple pie looks yummy as well.

:D Only if they are molded, carved out or collaged with other nonliving edible goods like cheese, butter, chocolate, icecream or fruits....
Kitties are not on the menu but they certainly are invited to the feast as furball guests. : )

Thanks and I hope John's presence bring more happiness to your beautiful girls' princessdom...Good luck!
