They go under the hood in the colder parts of canada
quite a bit, most owners bang on the hood before they
start their car in the mornings to try rouse them out.

Thank you, David Antony ! :D

A good action to adopt by anyone living in countries that receive too much snow and rain, since cats would do anything to escape the inconveniences of wet and cold weather...
Birma wrote:Worcester weather. Temp -8°C 18°F, Wind Northerly 6mph 10km/h, Humidity: 99%, Pressure: 1013mb rising, Visibility: Moderate.

Hi Yildiz - very nice cat pictures. I had to go back and look several times once I read in Greg's post that they were from a phone  . Nice crisp detail and good colours too I thought.

Greg's and DA's stories of cats under the bonnet (hood?) reminded me of a similar incident that happened to me several years ago. My first proper car (bought with my own money :D ) was a second hand Citreon 2CV. Lots of fun, but not always very relaible in the cold and damp mornings. Once morning, going to work, as I went to get in the car a cat leaped from under the car and ran off. Phew, I thought, glad the cat got out of the way. I couldn't get the car to start. I opened the bonnet to start the almost daily ritual of WD40ing the plugs etc. when what should I see nestled in midst of the 602cc (!) engine, but two tiny kittens, eyes wide open and mewing. I didn't want to disturb them in case the mother abandoned them so I walked to work that day. When I came home the kittens had gone, I hope reunited with Mum. I was always careful about checking under the bonnet after that.
Thanks for the comments on the cat's shots, Birma. :D

Cell phones come handy indeed at times of 'all-hands-full & too many things to carry'.

Your real-life story is exactly what I worry about since cats are over-liberated to make their temporary homes wherever they please...I'd hate the idea of finding one there and would probably do something similar to what you did in response.

Well it's been raining cats and dogs here for days, there's a tropical low system to the north of us that's just crossed the coast near Innisfail, finally, but not very severe luckily, just lots of rain basically.
Greg

ps. Is there anything more useless than a garden hose in a monsoon?

Weather in Istanbul:
Image...16 °C
Mostly Cloudy
Humidity: 63%
Dew Point: 9 °C
Wind: 15 km/h / 4.1 m/s from the South
Pressure: 1008 hPa (Steady)
Visibility: 10.0 kilometers
UV: 0 out of 16
Clouds: Scattered Clouds 1066 m
Mostly Cloudy 3048 m

It probably rained the cats and the dogs ...and when they hit the ground, they probably fled to take shelter somewhere, Greg. :D They are nowhere to be seen!

( I know what you meant but I'm just joking around. )

No rain or snow for us in Istanbul. :) No white Christmas ! If we want anything correlated to the season and the holidays they have to come from the shelves of the stores...

Like the mountain kids with a broken skateboard and the snowman perhaps...Well, maybe next year. : ))

Greg they say it rains to give a gardener time to do the
housework!!! Great photo at your Sisters. We have been
getting our share of rain the past week, almost to the extent
you have.

Hansel & Gretel don't seem too unhappy with their broken
skateboard Yildiz. They know Dad will cut out another
pretty soon. ;^) Very nice photo of the pair.

Good photo of the snowman, looks like his head & shoulders might
lift off to make a cookie or candy jar????? He's waiting for you to
bake the cookies ;^)

Donald lived at Tsatsu Shores. His setter loved to run around while he would watch from his wheelchair.

That's nice and serene DA, the water there on Christmas day, you could go exploring all over the place in a boat when it's like that, good photos. I knew a Hewlett here many years ago, he was from the US though from memory, but I haven't heard from him in twenty years or more.

Tsawwassen raining 4ºc.

Those dogs are sure having fun Greg. Good action shot.
In the neighbours driveway! I hope your houses are not flooded?

Great for Kayaks or any kind of boat around here Greg, thats looking
towards the Gulf Islands, Galiano & Mayne Islands, more Gulf Islands
beyond and Vancouver Island.

Did not take photos of the wind and rain as they occurred mostly at night.
Had to drive at times in the stuff. At least with the rain we get milder temps
and no shovelling. ;^)

Great to see everyone's weather pictures and the Istanbul decorations :D .

Weather in Worcester - Temp 3°C 37°F (almost balmy after -10°C over the weekend), Wind South Easterly 8mph 13km/h, Humidity 83%, Pressure 1013mb, Visibility Very good.

The thaw has set in and the dull grey cloud has come back. I think I prefer the cold and hard frosts :?

From a walk in the woods today - trying to work up the appetite for more Christmas over-indulgence :)

Thank you, Greg and David Antony. : ))

You both made me laugh and I suppose I'll be baking the cookies soon and will share my cookie brand with some photos. : )) You're very kind!

Greg;

That's a great weather shot that you shot at your sister's home premises and I find the dogs on the 'driveway' very amusing. Actually that driveway is no different than your sister's swimming pool to me! : ) One wonders....

David Antony;

Great and memory-filled shots... I feel sentimental at the sight of the grave while the first shot is incredibly 'still' with the hypnotizing blues it commands..

Thanks for sharing your weather! : )

Just saw your photo, Birma! I was busy sending my previous message...

You did it again! You know how to find good angles for these frosty weather shots. :D Wonderful tree against the scene's more hillside background.

Thanks for sharing,
