I really hate the flash delay. There is no way how to get a snapshot of the moment I want - even if everything is on manual setting (camera and the external flash). I looked forward to use my new A55 at a ball exhibition (Irish dancing) for my friends like in past years. It would be great to get more background light and shorter exposure times with its sensor but it is completely unusable, I have to use my old A350 - which is not so bad anyway - for this occasion.

Does Sony know it? When will be there a firmware fix available?

Sony has not said what they did to cause it, but apparently they also said they can't fix it with a firmware update either.

I see no technical reason for the delay on full M - there is no exposure measuring, no AF, nothing. There is a problem with the first shot only; you can make a 7 fps burst consecutively with flash. It looks like a FW error to me. I try to ask Sony for a "warranty repair".
