Telephoto ZOO

Unread post by Hawk »

Last summer I’ve visited ZOO in Cracow. Equipped with telephoto lenses I was hoping to get some interesting shots. It was a good lesson to me as I usually don’t shoot animals. Results aren’t as good as I was hoping for, but I’d like to share them anyway.

Hawk, can you give me one good reason why you don't like them. I wish I could have shots like these.

Hi Hawk. I like these close up animal portraits. I especially like the lion. :D

Thanks guys. Here is 1 reason for Doc :-) From those 5 images I had 3 with IMO better composition, but wasted due to glass glare (1) and blown out whites (2). I just didn't noticed that when I was quickly reviewing them at LCD. I got bit angry after checking them on computer. That was also reason for not pubilshing these right after ZOO trip.

Nothing wrong with those pictures Hawk. They are all sharp as well where it matters. I lilke the third picture best. Looks like a cheeky little thing that.

Hi Hawk,

They don't look as half bad as your feelings about them are, at all. I think what matters is that you went for their expressions and moods and got them right in somewhat good, tight cropping.

I like them all but the lion shot, the camel or llama and the Lemur shots for the nice captures of the moments.

Thanks for sharing, : )

These are great pictures, I love the Lemur one in particular, I think they are great creatures and I go to a local wildlife park to get them.

A sucker for big cats too............especially Tigers
She took to the skies like a lovesick angel...........
