I'm as guilty as anyone of hardly ever giving that info on shots. Can we all please remember to do that? It may have an influence on new (and old) shooters .

Also, (this I do!) please leave the EXIF data in the picture, so that it can be downloaded and examined in detail.

Thanks!

Don't know how to leave exif info in the picture. Some advice will be appreciated.
These were taken in eastern Florida last week. I used the a900 with the beercan for #1, Minolta 300mm w/ 2x teleconverter for #2, and the 85mm Zeiss for #3. I have to tell you, lugging that camera equipment around was a pain in the ass. I think I will sell the 300mm and converter and buy the Sony 70-400mm. Should lighten the load a bit.

The hardships we suffer for our hobbies  I don't blame you; just put a 70-400 G on order myself.
Nice shots by the way.

Great shots, JBTaylor. : )

Amazing colours at close up of the second and third shot. The first is a graphical beauty shot to my eyes.

Thanks for sharing,

Thanks! Googling the terms though, I find that most such birds have a lighter colored bill. Are you certain?

Hi I hope you don’t mind me saying, where I go to the wetlands trust, birds from all over the world are there as well as the wild birds and looking at the ones I have seen and photographed I do think it is right. (winter and summer plumage can alter it all)

Interesting compositions jbtaylor, I can't quite figure out what the Heron is doing with it's neck in the last one, it looks sort of off too one side or something, then, birds are always doing things you don't expect though.
Those are cute Sploosher.

I like that Eagle as well DA. There must be a few Eagles around your area, I think your Bald Eagle is occupying a similar ecological niche to our Sea Eagle, I used to see them when I went fishing locally, but I haven't been for some time.
