Now with more than on bird , we where lunching on the other side of the river when suddenly all that seagull decide to flew in a group following the river, It was very beautiful, this picture is just the end of the group (time to take out the camera from the bad, put the 200mm on ).

The river is names : Ashuapmushuan more info there : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ashuapmushuan_River . I born and grown up beside this river. My personal Chalet is on the side of this river (even other chalet from my family). The nest of the river (I don't know if it is the good word ...) is made of gold and dark sand, so the sky is always reflecting in it with a beautiful Dark blue (opposite to Caribbean sand where it is white sand giving this green/blue color, mineral water composition effect ... ). Sometime part of this sand look like gold powder and I'm not sure ... but I think this is one of the history mistake of our French explorer where Amerindian people from this time was explaining to them this kind of "Gold"... and unfortunately this was really not gold ... and I know they have search hard to find one . The place where I took the picture was a discrete fall only accessible by 4x4 or long walk, but in 90th my uncle (small village... proximity story ...) have manage to build a Bridge and road to pass trough this place to save money for Wood transportation by huge Truck (main industry in this part of the country). Even if the place is not more accessible, it continue to feel very virgin and paradisaical.

Most of my picture where you can see a beach or fall are always from this place. (field of family and nature blueberry are on the side of the river too, and also great place for the bees of family honey maker business).

Thanks for the explanation and addtional picture Frank - love the stitched panorama as well .

(In English the term is "river bed", but I think "nest" sounds sort of cute as well .)

Wow, Frank, you've caused me to google the area and look at it. I now know why Canada, even larger than the US has so few people: What isn't frozen is water!

I think you need to claim Quebec as "the land of 2.5 million lakes" and keep Minnesota from being so loud-mouthed about it's lakes.

Great Robin shots. You really came close upon this one which yielded good details and a catch on mood and alertness.

I can't help but notice what that Heron is standing on. Such a lovely blue creature having to stand on the discarded metal waste that probably was thrown there by a human being.
