Good photos Yildiz. I don't like the look of that crane in the last photo, hope it's not a High Rise going up?
Stay warm & dry.

Re: Weather Today - In Your Vicinity (2011)
Thank you, Birma and David Antony.
Istanbul is pretty much the same this morning, still snowing.
David, that crane belongs to the construction site where our new Naval Museum is being constructed. The building is almost finished and is not a high-rise being on the banks of the Bosphorus. There's a law that protects our coasts and banks from high-rises...but corruption is an existant character of our city councils as far as turning something illegal into legal is concerned and we had a lot of those as I demonstrated here a while ago.
The councils don't act for the benefit of the laws or the rights of the people when there are council members that are benefitting from 'milking' the monetary supplies from those waiting for "permit of construction" for their outrageous and intentional abuses of height and land use ratios...
Those people should be displayed at the town's centre so that the people could throw rotten tomatoes, potatoes and other rotten vegetables and eggs for their shameful acts of abuse. : ) You know just like the old times in England towns where they used to be displayed for a day and put to shame. And that would teach them!
--------------
Your shots are great! Thanks for sharing.
That first shot of the birds in various state of flight is amazing, almost a fine graphic art. I kept studying it for sometime and there's not a single motion blur or missed detail in the dark silhouettes against the sky. Must have had a fast lens...
And so that's how they go hunting geese, with plastic models of geese to fool the real geese flocks.. : ) That's a lot of work and load for the preparation of the hunt but I guess has to be done.
Thanks for sharing,
Yildiz

That bird picture is fantastic DA! I would have thought that it would make a great graphic design. Great stuff
A cloudy but slightly warmer start in Worcester today.

DA, someone could take that bird shot and make a REAL metal sculpture out of it that would be a true work of art. Not those twisted, rusted hunks of doggie-doo that litter our cityscapes and have no real form or meaning.

As for the hunting... I've never been sure about my feeling towards 'sport hunting", even if once I thought about arch hunting, but mostly because I was interested in archery itself. Or bear hunting with just a knife, a la Michael Strogoff

Dusty, I was going to say the same thing except for stone instead of steel.

Well, it's really hard to post anything after David Antony's little 'mind pull' on us, while I'm still enjoying the giggle
...but I'll try to input the weather condition in Istanbul...
Weather In Istanbul:
Right now: 0 °C ; Feels Like -7 °C ; Showers Snow
Wind: 35 km/h / 9.8 m/s from NNW
Just a couple of shots of our Pansies and Primroses as they befriend snow...
All shot this morning, with the A100 and Tamron 90mm F/2.8.

Nice shots in the snow Yildiz. Hope the blooms are not too damaged by the cold.

Cloudy & 8ºc.
Gorgeous flowers Yildiz. The snow really enhances them for me.

Re: Weather Today - In Your Vicinity (2011)
Thanks everyone!
Dr. Harout, it must be the warm days that we had in January and February that had the flowers started I believe but they seem to enjoy the snow also, to my surprise. : )
That's a good old friend, David Antony, enjoying a green retirement and resting its tires boards after wrestling harsh waves and weather for years...
