It was hand-held, actually. When you're using a long enough lens and not getting much of the foreground, a tripod hardly matters... do you think I'd take a tripod up on the mountain with me when the light is f/billion?

Ahh- I didn't think of that. I was impressed with 38 shots, more so hand held. I've never done more than 9...

Yeah, 38 shots was kinda redundant, and the final piece ended up being narrower than a single frame's long side. I just did it to make sure I was getting plenty of stitching points and the software could use the sharpest parts of the frame.

nex 5 + 1955 Canon RF 100mm f/3.5, no PP except crops.

With viewfinder and case, this lens sold for 126.70USD in 1955. For size, weight (184 grams), and sharpness this lens has never been equaled. For subjects at this distance few 100s of any size are sharper.

These work extremely well with the nex, and are easily found for 75-180USD today.

I love mountain pictures and hope they keep coming. Here is another of the famous Scottish mountians. This one is Beinn Eighe at the east end of Glen Torridon in the West Highlands of Scotland. Within a minute or two the still water had been stirred up and I would not have got the reflections.
