Love the "worms eye views" there David - very nice pictures and a great advert for the e-mount 16mm plus adapters. The tumbling price of the Nex 3 is making it look extremely attractive, especially after a couple of days carrying the A700 slung around my neck .

I really like the Blue Bonnets, John - road-side flowers are often hidden gems that we tend to speed past and ignore. Wouldn't mind seeing those in our ditches here in the UK .

Thanks Greg and Birma- Bluebonnets are the 'State Flower of Texas' and can often be found covering the ground around highways all over Texas. Unfortunately this apparently hasn't been a good year for them, due to a lack of rain this spring... This patch was only 6-7 feet across... John

Indeed those are 'worm-eye' views as Birma noted. I like the extensive wideness and the effect witht the 16mm fisheye adaptors. One for the NEX to be able to go that low without soiling the camera and the lens.

Good selection of architectural elements to back the sprouting spring scene... : )

While waiting for the ferry in Tarbert yesterday I couldn't resist the Daffodils with morning dew still on them.

Good thing you found a Daffodil on the island, Birma.

The islands you've been on seem to nurture a lot of beach grass which makes for intriguing scene subjects but I don't remember seeing any more colourful or familiar flowers in those frames... maybe in other parts of the islands? And maybe we'll see them in your net outing to the gorgeous islands. : )



I'll just share some shots from the garden since they seem to be enjoying their primes at the moment. Later they'll all be fruiting...

Some Pink Quince flowers that are cheerfully enjoying being a crowd...A couple of White Quice blossoms that just popped out of being a bud and some Violas-Pansies that were shot after a drizzle of rain.

All shot yesterday with the A100 and CZ 16-80mm.

That was a nice Daffy in the morning Birma, at least you scored one nice flower in the Islands.
Wow Yildiz, you could open a flower shop, I like the simple elegance of the white Quince even if all the others are so superb. The A100 can still rock along with the best of them too I reckon.

Yes, I could and it might be called "Aster's Flower Dip" for anyone who wishes to lose themselves in the scents and the flavours of the amazing flora. : )
I love the shy yet enticing elegance of the white quince blossoms also.

You reckon?!! IT IS THE BEST! (just kidding)

I'm actually looking around for an Alpha body...but the NEX 5+ and the A55+ series prove there might be more going on in Sony faacilities, although the earthquake, tsunami and now the degree 7 radioactivity threat in Japan will probably will halt a couple of things. (sadly for the production lines... but more sadly for all the humanbeings that are under the threat)

Nex 5+ sounds pretty exciting for lightness...

Wow - gorgeous colours Yildiz. I like the quince blossom shots especially, but this is purely personal preference of the flowers rather than there being anything wrong wih the pansie shots . There is something 'crisp' about the blossom shots - all brilliant.

We got home today, after dark, but the blossom trees are all out. I will find out tomorrow in the light if I have missed the best of them. They have had drought conditions here in the South and Midlands while we 'enjoyed' monsoons in the islands.

Not many spring flowers on the islands yet - daffodils and primroses mainly. Harris does have some amazing wild flower displays, but not until the summer - may be next time .

Thanks DA . It will have to be the Blue Bells of Olde England now as I'm back home, but it is the right time for Bluebells here, hoping to go out in the next day or two to shoot some.
