Nice job with the Camilla Yildiz, the red edges are defined well, they often want to blend together. The Wisteria is very pretty as are the roadside Tulips.

It’s no wonder you like that place Birma, lovely Rhododendron photos, you’ve got the 11-18 working well; the lake/Bluebell scenes are really splendid as well, very nice place.

Thanks Greg I find the 11-18 very hit and miss. I don't mean the lens technically, just trying to use that UWA view. Some days I just think I should have stuck with the 17-50, but some days going a bit wider seems to work.

The Pasque is a wildflower I take it jcoffin, looks like a nice little one.

I like that close-up of the Hawthorn flower Birma, what an unusual flower it is, what comes after the flowers are finished? Nice scene the Church Hill one, have you taken a photo of the Church, it looks photogenic also.

Thanks for the kind words Birma. I have to agree with Greg -- the Hawthorn flowers are quite interesting. I'm pretty sure I've never seen anything quite like that. I love post-rain shots, and this came out as nice as I'd expect.

Yes, the Pasque is a very wild flower, so to speak -- it only grows on land that's never been plowed. I suppose after land's been plowed, it would eventually get back to the point that Pasque would grow there again, but I have no idea how long it would take. It's the state flower of South Dakota (where I grew up), but hardly ever seen there any more -- most of the land's been plowed sometime or other, and even places where they've given up and haven't farmed for well over a century, it still doesn't grow. I've seen more here in Colorado than I ever did in South Dakota. Unfortunately the place I've found these is scheduled to have a road built through it sometime soon.

Thanks Jcoffin and Greg . Hawthorn flowers are very common in the hedgerows here at the moment, hence their common name of May Blossom. We're used to seeing them as a mass of blossom but not close-up. They are pretty similar to all of the fruiting tree and shrub blossoms. The blossom will turn in to small red berries over the summer, called Haws. They are edible and sometimes made in to jam / jelly etc. They are one of those common resources that are not used by many people now.

No picture of the church Greg . I did walk up the hill to it but it was (to me) pretty ordinary looking church so no picture. Next time!

Thanks Gio67 . I liked the scene as soon as I saw it and I tried to capture in different ways. I think the previous shot was my favourite in the end.

The alternative was a slight telephoto effect, but I don't think the lead in is as good. A return trip with different light is probably called for.

The new growth leaves are nice jbtaylor, and I think those blue flowers in the background look like they would be worth investigating as well. The backround bokeh is amazing in #2 and that pretty blue flower in the last is very nice as well, looks sortof Orchidy.

I think I like that shot just as much as the previous one Birma, and it seems to have even better balance somehow if you scroll the bottom of it out of view, but you loose those yellow foreground flowers that's the only thing.
