Flowers 2011 (Photoclubalpha Flora)

Thanks Greg and Yildiz. The first shot was all about the background bokeh. I was lucky that the foreground subject was not boring. Not sure what the purple flower is in the last shot but it is unlike anything I have seen on a golf course before. Probably should get that question answered.

The blue-purple flower is a Wild Iris that pops up naturally in such fields. : ) It's also very beautiful and more naive-looking than the cultivated ones.
It's also a very nice shot. : ))

Some interesting ones there jbtaylor especially the little blue flowrer, nice exposures and bokeh, the only one I know for sure though is the Rose.

I believe you are correct Birma. The 3rd image is a peony. Not sure about #2, my wife is the expert planter.

It' a nice Rose alright, I don't remember seeing all that many yellow Roses either.

All enticing closeups with or without the dew drops. Couldn't quite identify the three-petalled blue flower but it's lovely and exotic. : ))

My Christmas cactus has opened its blooming season and the blossoms will stay for only 20+ days, then it'll be a wait of an other 11 months to see any of these lovely pink flowers.

Since it's a Christmas Cactus that blossoms way out of range of the real Christmas season, you may try on a 'wishing spell' to get some untimely 'Christmas' gifts. Who knows, maybe it'll come true to your surprise.

Yildiz m'dear what an incredible plant that is, the shear amount of flowers and buds it has compared to the size of the actual plant itself, nice renditions. I think it would also do it justice to have a more distant defocused background, the sky maybe? and photograph it from a little further away so we can see the whole plant in focus all at once....maybe, it is a lovely cactus, I'll have to think up a really good wish
