wireless trigger arrived last night for my a700

I,m going to have fun with this, pre planning shots etc ,heres a few of my squirrel population with the CZ16-80, I was about 60 yards away in the house and had prefocused on the bird box which was about 800mm away from the tripod mounted camera

Cool, I'm supposing it's not the remote control that comes with the camera so how does it work? what brand etc. what does it look like?

no it's not the sony,the sony does not do the distance and generally you have to point the remote directly at the camera and the distance is very short,
this is the wireless I got, just plug it in and away you go, it will prefocus, ie button halfway, continious shutter release and timer a green light comes on to let you know it has focused, a pretty useful little tool and cheap too

Nice! It seems to be sold first as a remote flash trigger, but also doubles as a remote shutter release. Can you tell us anything about it's performance with flash? Does it sync as fast as it says?

I only used it with the wireless flash on the a700 with the onboard flash triggering the other flash, I have ordered another receiver as the flash it triggers needs a receiver as well as the receiver on the camera ( each flash you fire needs a receiver but the one transmitter fires everything, camera, multiple cameras, flash,multiple flash, studio lighting, studio lighting with flash ,the lot , it can connect as many receivers as you like to be triggered by one transmitter),so i should imagine they trigger simultaneously, I have tried the flash on the receiver on it's own and it seems to fire instantaneously,

it has 16 channels and works at 2.4Ghz frequency
