Thanks Yildiz, I have taken a couple of photos during a previous amble from the same supermarket car park, mainly of closing down sales and signs in shop frontage windows here and there with 'vacant' and 'for rent' pasted on the window. So I think you would be disappointed with a window shopping walk in that particular area. I think with the rise in popularity of large shopping centres and malls the suburban shop frontage is a dying breed.

Unfortunately, I'm not able to go out today due to a lingering fever. My throat feels like it's slammed shut, my head and back are aching and my skin is all tingly. This is going to be a crappy weekend...

I had some undeveloped images from the week before. Had a quick run in with a Robin in the forest and a Song Thrush in my backyard. The Song Thrush was clearly warming up in the frozen tree, catching the last rays of the sun that evening.

That’s a shame Mark, the weekend spoiled by a rotten plague. I always think the Robin is inspecting the photographer when I see a photo of one, they seem to have that I’m checking you out look, but they are fab little birds that’s for sure. It looks like the Song Thrush is going to settle in there for the nights chill, it’s already half asleep by the looks, a good little moment in the life of the Song Thrush in winter.

That's a shame about the shops. I see this kind of globalization in architecture as dangerous as global warming. Many local habits and customs are dying for such enstrangement.

What luck! Yesterday I spotted the bullfinches in the garden and took a chance they’d hang about if I went in the hide. They did and put on a really good display. The female was shy but the two males were helpful.
I was back inside within 15 minutes! It doesn’t often happen like that but when it does it’s pretty uplifting.
They’re the first shots I have of the ‘bullies’ this year – having a hide doesn’t mean instant success. You still usually wait around in the cold for hours.

This has had virtually nothing done to it – more or less as shot apart from some cleaning/contrast etc. I was more than happy that he was on an apple tree branch that is starting to bud. They used to shoot bullfinches as they ate the buds of blossom on fruit trees so he is in his old habitat!

Frickin' sweet Pat! In my efforts to capture these birds I've never could get this close. A couple live nearby, but are always midway or high up tye trees picking nuts and the like.

I admire your talent. Keep sharing.

Aaaw.... thankyou! No shots yesterday or today. Yesterday they were shooting clay pigeons practically next door (which upsets our visitors) and today it rains
