Very nice 'Sparrows' Mark ha ha, I think you meant to say Starlings, but getting close is hard to beat alright, I wish wild birds would be so unconcerned about being approached so closely.

I like both portraits of the Owl and Vulture and like the composition of the second picture very much! I agree the vulture does remind of Gonzo

Hi Caporip - very nice portraits . I like espoecially the clear glassy eye, in the first, and the 180 degrees head turn in the second. The Great Gonzzo is very topical at the moment with a new Muppets movie just out

Doc, that's a lovely sparrow! He/she's all fluffed up to stand the chill, or maybe heat up in the sun. Great capture!

Your captures have a heavy essence of character in these bird portraits. As the photographer you have the advantage of being very close to your subjects and making them aware of your presence which results in frames of an impression of eye-to-eye virtual combat.

I like the intense look the bird gives you.

It has been a while since I had the time to go out and 'hunt' some birds. Today, the weather was beautiful and I had a little time to get out shooting. What a great idea that was! Alas, my a580 is out for repairs at Sony, so I had to shoot with the slower a390. The 70-400G was attached off course

Ever since I heard the rumors about this bird living in the neighborhood I have been on the lookout for it. Today, I finally saw one in real life and even caught a few shots of it The bird is actually very rare in these parts of my country, so I'm really excited I saw one

# 1 - Eurasian Wren (Troglodytes troglodytes)

Just sitting in the swampy water in the woods. He was looking for food in the water.



# 2 - Goldfinch (Carduelis carduelis)

You can see what he's thinking "What are you looking at, bud?!"
