Thank you Henry. I agree with you about revisiting the post processing process with latest revision of SW. I am finding that some of my overexposed images can be saved with LR4. I agree with your comments about the willingness of the members to help you with photos with their valuable insight and extending the benefit of their experience. I have certainly taken advantage of their generosity in the past and will continue to do so in the future.

Yes, I have lived in San Jose, California since 1984 and yes, finding the time is a challenge in Silicon Valley, though I admit it is a matter of priority at a personal level.

That is a great series Henry. You really have the ability to capture greay, natural moments. The processing on the Big tree in a Y intersection is great processing. You most always pick the right way to go with photos, regarding B/W or color. I agree that post processing is a journey, and it is useful to go back to old photos with new skills. John

That photo of the tree at the Y is the only one I worked on a bit to brighten up the dark tones and darken the light tones a bit. A bit of an HDR effect.

We went to Silicon Valley at the same time then! I also first went there in 1984. I was working in Cupertino.

I'm always struck with this tingling excitement that, you'll be the owner of one of the finest candid albums on human beings in the future. You'll look back and find that you lived a long and full human experience...especailly on the Japanese which probably is due to your heartful-link to the country and its people. : )

Yes, it is a wonderful city. I suppose any huge city such as Tokyo, New York, London, Paris, Moscow, Beijing, Bangkok, Delhi, etc. have their share of interesting and wacky people though. We certainly also have some in Waikiki, Vancouver, Austin, and other places I have lived.

While not wacky here are 2 photos from years ago. The first man was standing next to me waiting for the walk signal and I just noticed how ramrod straight he was standing. This was at Takadanobaba, Tokyo in 1992.



This man was standing like this in a train station in Tokyo in 1999.

We are busy today. Moving out of the place we have been renting in Tokyo for the last several months and moving to a hotel near the airport today. Then early tomorrow morning flying back to the States. The last 6 months in Japan have been a lot of fun, have met many old and new friends, and taken many photos.
