Flowers 2012 (Photoclubalpha Phlora!)

After not picking up the camera for several weeks I finally had the opportunity today to get out and enjoy the summer flowers. A cloudy day with a flat grey sky, but is did give a nice diffused light. Here are some shots from the meadow that Tilly and I visited this morning.

This is from a rose bush I planted last year after the tornado. (I think! It could be have miraculously survived, but there was so much tree debris there I replanted some, don't recall any making it thru.)

Anyway, 28-105 and A350.

Great wildflowers and photos Birma, I like the dark wood and gate especially, (I think Tigger practices falling out of trees in the wood, if memory serves, there could also be a rumoured Heffalump for Tilly to watch out for) and also ‘Big Meadow’ of course. The Red Campion is a pretty little one too.

Pretty yellow Rose Dusty, you didn’t get that one from Texas though I bet.

I've just back from the forest. I haven't really found anything interesting worth to photograph, so finally I played a bit with the light on an ordinary subject.
(Nex-5, 50mm1.8 + marumi 5dp achromat, yongnuo YN460-II flash with rim-light adapter)

Greg, no heffalumps spotted, but the most dangerous thing in the wood at the momnet is ... the Gruffalo ! We were on the look out, but he eluded us

Marcell, no close-ups this time as they were too far from the path and I try to avoid trappling everything else to get to them. Here is a common spotted from last year, and if you look for a meadow thread I started a few weeks ago there are some green winged ones from earlier this year. I might make a foray early tomorrow if it is not raining too much .

Took some shots in the garden today and will hopefully PP and post later.

Sure is some nice eye candy lately, great light control with the ring flash Marcell.
I like the 'common' orchid Birma, an amazing flower that one.
