Good ones Birma, the Robin was a good shot, carrying something back home by the looks, and the Pigeons are cool, there is one thing that you could never accuse Pigeons of being....slow on the uptake when it comes to food, if you have some bird seed on the loose they are your guys.
Yeah the last one in mid blink does look kinda angry ha ha.

Greg, you're dead right about pigeons spotting an easy feed - we have 4 or 5 most days on the lawn. Today there were three magpies with them (no pictures obviously ) and they certainly scare off most of the small birds while they're around.

John, may I conclude that you had a very interesting time together with families? At least for you and Kevin, don't know about the other halves...
One thing I'm sure, Kevin should be quite jealous to your 70-200 G. Nice shots buddy.

Very nice birds John - the Dove looks good, especially with that the "eye make-up" look . That wren has great plummage as well.

I get wood pigeons raiding the bird tables constantly. You have admire their ability to eat so much and still fly!

I like the cute Dove with the red eye John, and the Cactus Wren building a nest was a great capture, there’s obviously a few trips involved in bringing each grass stem back to the site, birds are amazing sometimes in where they get all their energy from.

Ps I better go and see Venus over at Murray's (second time not third duh!) with his 16" ....my telescope has become difficult to get out at the moment, too much emphasis on house repairs and things in the way.

@John: I love that Cactus Wren! What a great bird to see with those markings! I definitely looks like it has a attitude

@caporip: that's a nice image of a Red-crested Pochard (Netta rufina). That red eye looks almost devilish. It took a while to identify it. You won't believe how many species of ducks and geese there are

The weather here stinks at the moment. I hope the missus and I get a chance to get out this weekend. If I'm a good boy, maybe I can take a camera and telezoom with me

Thanks guys! I was glad to have a chance to do a bit of birding while in Big Bend.
Doc- It was just the two of us... It was nice to be able to stop and photograph what ever caught our eye, without "are you going to take a photo every 5 feet" (my wife said that one on a family trip to the fair, I told her I'd be nice and extend it to every 10 feet. She didn't think it was as funny as I did! )
