Here are some pictures of the Grand Prismatic Pool in Yellowstone National Park. We had to climb a small hill on the Fairy Falls Trail to get the above the ground view of the pool.

Beautiful colors! I have been there several times, but for some reason I never noticed the Fairy Falls Trail and didn't realize there was a vantage point where you could get above the pool. The next time I am there I will definitely check out the trail.

What's making the pretty colour, copper sulphate or something? Anyway they are most interesting photos, it looks very warm with all the steam.

It's like looking at a mineral stone or crystalline formation under a microscope except for the tiny human figures in the distance...

Thank you for the comments. One thing about these shots. Climbing up a hill with camera equipment at a higher altitude than I am accustomed to necessitates a renewed commitment to physical fitness and going to the gym regularly. That's the plan.
