A900 does Hasselblad (Macro)

Unread post by sury »

I bought a Hasselblad to MA converter on eBay after my neighbor agreed to lend me his HB lenses. :D

Here is an example of Sonnar 250f5.6 on A900 with HB extension tube. Natural light f8, 1/400s.

Hmm, Sury, sidetracking to Hasselblad, by and by? :D

Nice details in the subjects but rather a heavy set up for my daily usage indeed. Looks more like a special occasion set up.

Did you enjoy it? Thinking putting it to use more often?

Yildiz,
Thank you.
I think it will be on rare occasions when I can get access to the lenses unless I acquire a lens or two.
The set up is not complicated at all except once in a while you need to "cock" the shutter built into the lens
with a flat head screw driver. I love the details when I get the numbers right. My close friend has a HB and
has not used it in 10 years. I don't know and he does not remember which lenses he has. I am meeting him
tomorrow and see if I get to "borrow" his lenses for a long time.
I would rather get a CZ lens for my Sony Mount before I invest in those HB lenses.

With best regards,
Sury

That is one heckuva setup Sury...I'd love to take that out and about just to take in the stares that it would receive. It seems to resolve an incredible amount of detail, as shown by that crop. I like it... John
If the last thing you remember hearing is somebody yelling 'CLEAR!!!', assume you've had a problem!!

John,
I am finding it to be a tad tricky to handle as well. I am not having much luck with flash. I am suspecting it may be because the converter has
has preprogrammed f1.7 value. I am looking at using a PC sync to flash and try. Yesterday I got two more lenses from another friend, CZ80f2.8 and
150 f4 to play with. :D My intent with the set up is to find if the 24Mpix can be of use with a Medium Format lens. I have done crops of my 900 shots
and printed the crops at 8"x10" without any problems. I want to print this crop at 16"x20" just for the fun of it.

Sury, I shot my cousin's wedding a few months ago with my 350's and 700. I got the first kiss on the 350, and gave her a slightly cropped 16*20 that was printed at Sam's Club for about $6 or $8 - way too cheap!

It was awesome and she absolutely loved it.

With those lenses and 24MPs from the 900, you're sure to have a winner.

Dusty
An a700, an a550 and couple of a580s, plus even more lenses (Zeiss included!).
