I also sometimes go back to old photos and reprocess them. Sometimes I get much better results the second time around.
They look good. I suppose for my taste today (maybe not tomorrow or yesterday) the first shot is a bit overprocessed. Note that I said for my taste. What is important is your taste though. Generally, I think, it is best to do what satisfies you. Unless you are trying to sell something who really cares what other people think? Actually, even with selling there are probably two main paradigms:
1. Find out what people like and then try to sell it to them.
2. Do things your own way and try to get people to like what you like.
The same is true of political leaders. For example, Bill Clinton was a master of doing polling to find out what the whims/emotions of the day were and then scurrying to get in front of them. Of course, it doesn't mean he did it all the time and on every issue, but it was the general trajectory of his administration.
