How about that DA, I didn’t know you had Brolgas over there http://bird.net.au/bird/index.php?title=Brolga well very similar to them by the looks (but yours are neater with more red on the top I think), interesting to find out how widespread that type is, and thanks for the great photos of your ones too.

I'm a dedicated natural history photographer and my opinions come from that perspective. Your birds are beautifully exposed and focused and in that respect excellent. I enjoyed seeing these pics of a species unfamiliar to me.

From the point of view of a perfectionist number 1 would be improved if you had not cut off the feet and number 2 would be improved with a crop that removed that intrusive backside of the bird on the right hand side. Both would be improved with a wider aperture that blurred the background even more.

I hope that you don't mind these comments and take them as meant - constructively.

When it came to birds, my quest has been birds in flight (bif) where my emphasis was on
flight rather than bird itself. Here is another one of my attempt at bif. While I acknowledge
with awe and respect the beautiful avian collection on the thread, I hope my attempts are
not perceived as passe and if they are, please do let me know.
