Yes. I have been experimenting with them on CZ to fill the frame. Some purists may lynch me for such
blasphemy. Cheapening a CZ with such cheap gadgetry.

May I ask, why a CUL on a wide angle lens

Doc,
You may ask that question. My intentions was to fill the frame since the
WA lens though allows me close focus still does not fill the frame on A900.
That's why I switched to A700. I did check to see the difference with and
without, but assumed that with CUL would be a magnified image and without
much compromise to quality of image since I am already using a very fine lens.
I would like to know if all I did was lose the quality and did not gain magnification.

Using CUL on a wide angle lens would give no real benefit. Even AFAIK it deteriorates the IQ.
How about acquiring a reverse adapter for A-mount (i.e., an adapter which allows a lens to fit in front of the camera with the front side of the lens facing the camera).
Of course you cannot use A-mount lenses due to their aperture system in the lens (unless you construct something to change the aperture).
The wider the lens the greatest macro you have, BUT manual focus strictly.

Nice detailed close ups Sury, have you tried a set of tubes instead of the filter? You shouldn’t get any edge flare halos using tubes.
Those are something a bee would get excited about Mark.

Many nice pictures. I'm a bit jelous of the blooming on the other parts of the world. We had a bit of spring, then winter captain came back. The forest is covered by snow as well as the spring flowers came out last week, but the sunshine and the clear sky was promising. Few photos from today:

Man, I went to the Brooklyn Botanical garden last Friday and the Chery trees were empty (they have a whole esplanade full of cherry trees, and more at the Japanese pond) and nothing, not even leaves...
This winter in the East cost is lasting a little too long. I guess we'll have the cherry blossom by June...
