Based on lack of hair on Dr, and the honorific "Dr" on the other in the title,
I take it the subject is a sibling.

I like the fact that the glasses are not dark to hide the eyes.

He's a very close friend and a photographer, not a doctor.

Here are some images that might fit this category, although all were taken as family snapshots just for the memories.

The first is of SWMBO, taken last October at an outdoor fund-raising dinner for a local high school.

The next two are of my daughter-in-law and her younger son, taken last week-end at a local "bounce house" where we had gone to entertain her older son.

I normally think of a portrait image as being a head-and-shoulders shot - or at least close to that, although I know that there are some classic full-body portraits. The latter are my excuse for posting these images - although the real reason is the subject of the portraits, the one-and-only Gary Friedman. These were taken last summer while I was participating in one of Gary's field workshops - which I heartily endorse.

I love the 3rd one in the first set. The partially covered faces of mother and son just add to
the drama.
As for "other" portraits, I doubt any of us here are "literalistic" per se.

Perhaps because of my love of puns, these two images reminded me of the classic 1957 film, "The Three Faces of Eve", which won multiple "Best Actress" awards for the then-unknown Joanne Woodward. The film, based upon a real person, tells the story of a woman with Multiple Personality Disorder.

Here are two images that show the different personalities of my grandson, depending upon whether he is happily playing, or has just been told "No!"

Both shots taken with a NEX-6, using a Maxxum 70-210mm f:4 lens set at f:5.6.

Cheers Doc, this was from a wedding I shot, with my daughter, a week or so ago. Very poignant day as the groom who is a good friend of mine has terminal (i.e. a year or two at most) cancer. In spite of, or perhaps because of, that it was a very happy day. Keeping to the portrait theme here's one of the couple by me:-
