Thanks DA. The spot from which I took those is not only a magnet for photographers, but also anybody who wants to go and gaze at the sunset. It is a very popular spot on clear evenings. It is also popular with whale-watchers at any time of day as you can often see pods (?) of Minky whales swimming through the Minch (the name for this stretch of water).

Here is one I took earlier.

Well much earlier in late October 1970 as Ark Royal, and I, steamed through the Straits of Gibraltar. Minolta SRT101 55mm Rokkor f1.7 on Kodachrome II 25ASA.

Some very nice shots there Birma, I may drop another from Western Scotland in and see if you recognise it.

I am up there again shortly I hope. I really need some practice with this A77 as I am going to have to work rather differently because of strangeness in the exposure compensation area, still find some things a bit confusing at the moment. But it is ever thus with a very different camera. I moved from SRT101 to Dynax 7 and picked up an X700 or two cheap but good shortly after, one had a split-image finder which I liked. The X700 was the one that I was drooling over in 1983 but could not justify spending on by being a mature student at Uni (Maths & Science) with a wife, four children and a mortgage. Times were tough.

Great shot Omega892. I love that purple skylight.

First and last for me! Nice lines and colours. I especially like the first.
