I like the Cornish Rose Lionel - lovely feel to all of those petals.

Very vibrant red there Sury - I like the slightly mysterious dark background.

HEre are some from an early morning trip to check on the progress of spring. It is gathering pace it would seem, but still way behind last year.

First some more blossom from the hedgerow.

I had a lot of fun 'playing' with the early morning light reflecting off the dew in the grass. I like the effect, although it might not be to all tastes .

Both with A99, the first with Tamron 90 macro, and the second with the Beercan.

(I had some strange effects with the Beercan not being able to meter accurately at f stops over f/6.3 or so. I guess the effect of the reflections from the dew was doing something screwy. At f/11 it was necessary to dial in between -1 and -2 exposure compensation. The Tamron 90 seemed fine.)

Very nice soft color. It has calming effect, with that delicate pinkish color.

Thank you, one does not let PS do an Auto Smart Fix on a shot like that, turns almost monochrome with a bluish tinge. Yuk!

This one is with Rokinon 85/1.4 and HVL58 flash remote triggered.

Very nice.

Now if its Lilies you want, stand by.

Thank you Andy. I love the Cowslips (the second one in the second set). The back lit shadows are very delicate
and convey the feeling of fragility of the flowers.

Yes that sort of light can add a very pleasing softness to an image.

I remember back in the early 1980s doing some portrait work and investing in a range of Cokin filters back then one of which was a sharp centre with a increasing softening towards the edges and corners. That was the time I updated my flash gear. Being still a bit short of 'bread' I purchased an end of range Agfa hammer style with a bounce facility plus fill in flash tube. Very flexible for its time. Mecablitz were out of my price range. A little later I invested in a Vivitar hammer style that was modular. One could change both the flash head and the controller base. I only ever purchased one alternative of the latter which had a useful remote function which saved stringing up with cables. The action was via a cable release which threaded through the grip, which contained a second set of AA batteries, across to the shutter release on the opposite side. One needed a strong wrist to control this thing though. Both these guns had thyristors which I thought magic compared to my old fixed output flash of the late 1960s.
