Nothing as picturesque as the Fraser R. with mountain backdrop DA just a coconut tree next-next door, a rare beast these days, most have caught STIHL disease because the dang things keep growing higher and ever higher until they are really dangerous.

Greg, I didn't think they would be dangerous, they seem to bend nicely in the hurricanes. ;^) Those look very heathy, do they
produce many coconuts? Taking a closer look there seems to be quite a cluster to the top left.

That Fraser River shot was taken from Elmer's neighbours garden, see all the wood by the fence. Quite a bit on the roof also.

Ha! I was going to say that might be Elmer’s woodshed from the other side but the long high jetty threw me a bit. (the tide must be out)

Ps the coconuts drop off the tree on a regular basis, that’s why they are a bit of a hazard, and the higher the tree grows the more dangerous they are, people have been killed by them. There is a whole line of them along the strand (a public area) and the city council has to trim the nuts off them all regularly.
So if you ever go to some tropical Is. where there the coconut trees are full of nuts keep a watchful eye upwards as you walk underneath…not kidding.

Yes the pretty canoe could be used in the Sydney one as well, they could call it a canoodle perhaps.
That’s a pity about the Totem pole DA, couldn’t they put a steel pole fixture concreted into the ground behind it?

Yep no easy answer DA, if the structural strength of the timber is bad, dry rot I suppose, the end grain is exposed to the rain and the timber resin leaches out over time and then it turns into rubbish in places.
