would love to do a time lapse on this as it opens, but don't really want to leave my camera outside for so long.

was thinking of a wee time lapse video, I've never tried it but I have the app, I'm open to suggestions

I especially like the strawberry shot. Great with the two fruits in different states and the lovely smooth background

Some very nice photography Sury and gio67, the main thing is making images that are interesting and worth having a longer look and you are both doing that, for me anyway.

Gio67, I'm especially intrigued by the flower in the second shot as well. A time-lapse would have been great...without damaging the camera of course. : )

As for the strawberries.... I only envy your daily intake of delicious, organic, anti-toxic strawberries. Bon Appetit!!

here is the Dhalia again, I bought this plant specifically because of how the plant next to it was flowering so radiantly, and hopefully this would do the same and make a great photo subject. a great model, it is always there and never complains, except when it's windy and will not stay still.
I think it looks better when it's a bit wet.

the sony 35mm 1.8 seems to give a really pleasant bokeh, these are all taken with the nex 6, I,ve hardly touched the a580 since I got it, and even more, I am going on holiday next week and taking the nex 6 and nex 5n as a backup, and the only mount other than the e mount lens I will be taking is the Tokina 11-18, yes even the zeiss 16-80 is staying at home, first time ever with no slr on holiday,it will be like climbing Everest without oxygen, wish me luck.

Yes the Dahlia is a pretty flower and growing nicely, I wish all the Rose plants here (in 4 separate pots) would flower, so far only one consistently produces flowers, the others have just been growing new shoots since I tried to resurrect them, time will tell I guess.
The 35 seems a good lens gio67.

i love the lens Greg, but I am beginning to find it,s a bit long at times, the zeiss 24mm would have suited my photography better, but my wallet was not up to the purchase, I,ve since bought the LA EA2 adaptor and I,m using the Tokina 11-18 for my wide shots on holiday.

I can see that the all Nex kit will save you save space and weight for flying, Gio67. As we'll be driving on our summer adventure I'm planning to take both kits; the A99 and the Nex 6. Not sure what I'll do when we fly somewhere. Another reason to keep the Nex 5!

I'm keen on the SEL 16 for wide angle, plus the adapters for ultra wide and fish-eye, although I realise this lens is not everyone's fav.
