As autumn is around the corner I can safely revive this thread.

Made a walk around my peck of the woods today and instead of hunting after our feathered friends, I brought the RX100 for some wide angle macro fun.

I found a lot of fungi all around the woods. Here are the best.

All shot @ 24mm (35mm equivalent) in which the RX100 can do macro. Wide angle macro shooting is pretty fun!

There was a definite chill today here for the first of September. Inspired by your pics I must look out for some fungi.

It was cloudy and windy here yesterday. When I went to the woods last week I was bitten and stung by numerous insects. They were all over, but I had to search to find even a simple fly yesterday. Add the mushrooms and the first brown leaves and voila: autumn is on its way!

No rainforrestd here Greg. This is actually a really small patch of woods, maybe 1 km2 at the most. It looks so great because the forrest service leaves everything as it is except trees that block the small paths leading through it. It is a pretty wet place, that's why it looks so green I think.
